this thread will list characters that can promote and suggests promotion options in two different formats and will be left open for debate, updated whenever possible
Divine format:

following the divine format will put each and every one of your units at the top of their game and will give them the best stats possible
the perfectionist format allows a bit more flexibility and has the potential to make the game a bit more interesting and focuses on having as many different classes as possible

I ask that if a debate does not help determine promotions or is off topic that you DO NOT DEBATE IN THIS TOPIC, this thread was solely made to determine the best promotions for each format and nothing else, it is my job to keep up with the messages in this thread, and I really rather not read through pages of useless unrelated crap!!!

Oh ya! I remember! Moulder becomes a sage and L'Archel (I think that's how you spell it) becomes the one with the light. Lute as a Mage Knight.

Time to try to start this thread again! Anyone? Well... my personal favorites...
Gilliam-General (Defense + 25+ attack with a silver axe = pawnage) Gerik-Hero (Great overall stats) Ewan-Sage (Very powerful. Beat Saleh as a level 20 mage) Colm- Assassin (Support Neimi (B) + Shamshir = 60% chance of critical) Knoll-Summoner (Phantoms are awesome) Arthur-Bishop (Monster pawnage) Erika + Ephraim- Great Lords (No choice there) Franz-Paladen (Amazing speed + general attack is awesome) Kyle-Paladen (Needs speed and GK won't exactly give it to him that much) Forde-Great Knight (Defence and attack + Forde's speed = awesomeness) Joushua-Swordmaster (Amazing critical) Marissa-Assassin (Speed + 1hit KO'S) I think that's my team for assaulting Grado and the Demon King.
Even so, Ewan should be a summoner, and Knoll as your druid.

Yes, Amelia definitely is THE tank! Franz is a good paladin though, try it sometime!

Amelia becoming a General is amazing. She's one of my favorite units this play through.
I prefer Seth as a paladin as opposed to Franz or Kyle or Forde. I just like him better.

I like Wyverns! Also what characters do you guys most commonly use after Chapter 14? I DO NOT use units that already come ranked up, with the exception of Saleh, because he's not TOO bad. Also his critical reminds me of something

Corruption
Justin There's no real 'wrong' promotion for a character if all you want to do is beat the game. You can beat the game with any class and any promotion.
The 'proper' promotions are more for hardcore people who want the strongest units possible, and in this case, a promotion can result in different stat caps and mobility.
I'm not exactly an FE guru, but I don't see anything wrong with the characters and promotions you mentioned.

Is there any real drawbacks of having Tana promoted to falco-knight? For whatever reason I don't think she's a Wyvern lord at all. I play with what I think the characters would be, haha.
I also want to promote Lute to Mage knight and L-Arachel to Valkrie.
