I spoke with Raijin1999 about this one as well a little bit ago, about making a general news thread for Star Wars. Since the neoportal is no where near complete, and the nearest General Star Wars forum is almost always being spammed to death, it was pretty much the best option to place it in one of the more active Star Wars forums out there.
Now, I won't be posting Battlefront news in here, as, well, that all deserves it's own thread, but it will be used to post any news I come across, and each article will be going into a new post... for neatness and ease of quoting, and Raijin generally agrees. So feel free to comment whenever you feel like it. Feel free to comment or post your own news... indeed, I'm encouraging you to!
This is only a trial run for now.
Good day all!

Knights of the Old Republic MMO Confirmed!!!
__________
"For a while now, we've heard both official and unofficial talk about two BioWare projects: a partnership with LucasArts for a game, and an MMO for which the developer opened a satellite studio in Austin, Texas in 2006. Recently, BioWare parent company Electronic Arts revealed that they are the same game, a Kinghts of the Old Republic MMO. EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed the game in speaking to Conde Nast's Portfolio.com. Riccitiello said that that EA has "two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development. The first title, based on the Warhammer property, will launch soon. And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about in partnership with Lucas [Arts is] coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most-anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it." When asked if he was referring to KOTOR MMO, Riccitiello replied, "yes."
Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels at Celebration Japan!
__________
"Actor Mark Hamill, whose portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars Saga captured the imagination of generations of fans, will appear at Star Wars Celebration Japan, scheduled for July 19-21 in the Makuhari-Messe Convention Center near Tokyo.
Joining Hamill at this first-ever official Lucasfilm Celebration in Asia will be actor Anthony Daniels. Daniels performed in all six Star Wars movies as the golden droid C-3PO, and has the honor of delivering the first and last lines uttered in the opening and closing episodes of the Saga.
Both actors are slated to meet fans and sign autographs in the Autograph Hall all three days of the show, and scheduled to make very rare on-stage appearances during this 30th anniversary Celebration of Star Wars in Japan."
"I am writing on behalf of the Anthropology Society at Lake Tahoe Community College in Lake Tahoe, CA. Our professor, Daryl Frazetti, who speaks at conventions on the anthropology of Star Wars will be teaching a summer class for Kids College - Creatures and Cultures of Star Wars and Star Trek. Also, a new Winter course will be coming online - January 2009 - Anthropology of Star Wars..."
I already knew about the SC IV guest appearances. If you look on my GameGrep profile (link is a full stop in my sig) you will find an article about how the developers from SC IV are rubbishing rumours of Yoda being too unbalanced. But they basically hint at Yoda being a super character in the game which would be awesome fun.

Soul Calibur
__________
Soul Calibur and Star Wars fans gather 'round -- while haters grab a six pack of Haterade and their always-ready flamethrowers -- because Namco Bandai has finally released new info on the rumored secret characters set to appear in their highly-anticipated fighter, Soul Calibur IV, and 1UP has 'em first. In case you don't believe your eyes as they scan over these screenshots, you are indeed seeing the legendary purveyor of the Dark Side, Darth Vader, and his Force-wielding nemesis, Yoda.
The May issue of GamePro Magazine is chock full of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed goodness or in this case, badness! The staff at GamePro have worked with LucasArts and Sony to revealed to us some very interesting facts about the game, such as:
Wii Remote/Nunchuk Lightsaber and Force controls
Details on the game's exciting battle-oriented Duel Mode (including character reveals)
New elements on the game's story
Furthermore, in the spirit of the Dark Side, they're giving away 5 Darth Vader branded PSP's to one lucky winner.
Unfortunately, in the past six months, even the rumours of a KotOR III have dried up. I haven't even heard any news, but if there is so much of a glimmer hopefully someone gives us a heads-up.

Have to admit, that's about the score I would give KotOR as well. Check out the entire 7/10 review here, done by Thunderbolt games. Perhaps new to the reviewing scene? =)
Also posted this in both KotOR II forums for those interested. =)

Star Wars: Empire At War Reviewed
__________
Battles in space can be epic, with agile Y-wing bombers taking on gigantic Star Destroyers. You'll need to refine your battle tactics to negotiate asteroid fields and skill-sapping nebulae. In Galactic Conquest mode (similar to the game Risk), you control the galaxy, moving your space fleet and land units to conquer planets. When combat begins, you then enter the land or space combat portion of the game with only the forces you have at the planet, so it's best to preplan your strategy.
Empire at War oozes the style of classic Star Wars. The Empire and the Rebellion duke it out in a galactic civil war that takes place during Episode IV: A New Hope. Luke sports an X-wing, and Darth Vader isn't some teenybopper heartthrob. The Empire is all about money and overwhelmingly massive battle forces, while the Rebellion relies on craftiness and skill by stealing technology and slipping small raiding parties past Imperial space fleets to fight planetside. You can purchase heroes such as Boba Fett and Han Solo from the movies, and even Mara Jade from the books, and they're devastating on the battlefield.
