This is another one of those "imported from the UK" game shows that just debuted in the USA last week (it's repeating on cable and coming back in March 2006). I just started watching it and I'm still a bit curious as to how it really works and how big it is overseas-what I know is contestants can win anywhere from a penny to $1 million or take this "bank offer" that's phoned in to host Howie Mandel several times for each contestant. Sounds interesting though, if just because they time commercials right at the cliffhanger moments.

The thing I find very funny with this show is when someone gives an emotional message, something like "I know you will do well and have a great life in the future" and then releases the £250,000.

Could've been worse, they gave it away LAST WEEK! Of course they didn't actually mention who the winner would be, I only got an idea when I read the episode description on The Futon Critic earlier in the day. Oh well, it's finally happened, they start over now, let's move on...now we can ponder who will be the first to win the $500K top prize in the syndicated version!

What a gyp. They kept *bleep*ing giving it away when they would go to a commercial break. GG.

We'll see next week, but NBC has to like this first million dollar winner-Jessica Robinson, white, young-looking, blonde, expecting, bounces around like an expecting woman should not, and so on. She turned down a $561,000 offer to go for it and stuck with her case (#4). Had she been wrong, it would've been hard to feel sorry for her-she still would've left with $200,000.
(And she probably only saw about $650,000 of it after taxes)

LOL I think so too. At least, I know I'll stop watching.

I can imagine the ratings plummeting once the million is won, unfortunately.

If the ads at the end of last night's show were accurate...MONDAY! Next week's show is when, according to these ads, the million will finally be won! They had another so close call last night-the contestant went all the way, turning down a $530,000 final offer for a chance at the million still on the board (it's the Million Dollar Mission again so she started with 4 million cases). Alas, she had the wrong case but got a nice consolation prize package: Her case had $5000. She also gets a trip to New York City, a meeting with some old gray-haired dude I've never heard of, and a walk-on role in the play "Hairspray". That's probably worth a good $20K total, so not bad. It was close though, the last case eliminated was the penny.

Oh I thought there was some kind of break, but when it's back on I shall be watching it every day when I get home from school, while eating my dinner.

Yeah, the season finale was back in May. They took it off over the summer (Mondays anyway) for American Gladiators and Nashville Star, now it's off because of the Olympics.

I was starting to think Deal or no Deal had finished and ended because I haven't seen a show of it for about a month but someone told me they have a little break of some kind in the summer holiday's.
