In 10-15 years time, even DL-DVDs will be outdated, as I have read in a technology magazine about a disc that instead of using 0s and 1s, uses many different levels, like 0-32, which can be interpreted by a computer as 0s and 1s like a normal disc, but with many times the space, some big companies are working on it right now, and estimates say that the discs will be able to hold 1 Terabyte (1,000 gigabytes) of information. However, you're probably looking at 2010 at least before it comes into consoles.

PS4, anyone?

As far as i'm aware a dual layer dvd is just some clever thing which allows effectively 2 dvd'd to be fitted onto 1 dvd as the bog standard 4.7gb is too small. You get it on some films on dvd and theres a slight pause roughly half way through the film where it changes over. I thought I heard somewhere that the PS3 was going to use some mad new format of dvd thats 10 times bigger or something and to be honest it will have to. If SA is pushing dvd technology to the limit then a better console with more detailed graphics will make the gb storage space needed go through the roof, there's no point having some mind blowing console and being limited to 9gb of data or having the dreaded games coming on 4 discs syndrome like the final fantasy games on the PS1.

Quick heads up..
Just read about HD-DVD that uses Dual Layer Disks for movies.. can be read by DVD players, but at low quality.. HD-DVD players aren't out yet...
Sony however is working on something called Blu-Ray possibly for the PS3, basically it uses blue lasers (which are still really expensive) and disks made out of special paper inside a plastic case like a floppy or like a minidisc. Blue lasers have a much narrower beam, therefore the data can be squeezed onto the disc in a much narrower channel, so you can have something the same size as a 4.7Mb DVD or 15Mb Dual layer DVD but it holds somewhere between 20Mb-25Mb. In GTA terms you'll have enough data space to hold GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas on one Blu-Ray disc. Sony is just waiting for blue lasers to cost less (would you pay $500+ for a PS3?)

Games are always the regular price unless they have some sort of Headset, like Socom. But I am not sure if that's more or less.

Anyway, so have we confirmed this game is dual layered?

The price, was, is, and always has been regular price ($50)... They would never change that price this close to the release date, so I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about there.

i hope the game is going to be normal price. i dont want to pay 70 bucks for it, although it most likely will be worth it
