I think most people agree that Metal Blade from Megaman 2 is the most useful weapon. It shoots in 8 directions, is fast to fire, and uses a very little amount of the weapon meter (but if you disagree say which weapon you like better).
My question is, what do you guys think is the worst weapon in all the Megaman games? My vote goes for the Top Spin, from Top Man. That thing totally sucks!!!

I happened upon this thread and I know it's old but can't resist throwing in my 2 cents...
Crash Bomber/Clash Bomb for Megaman 2 has to be the worst weapon ever in any Megaman and related series (X, Zero, etc) combined, especially in the Genesis version. Eats up tons of weapon energy, takes forever to detonate (who's gonna stand there and wait?), abyssal firing rate (ONE projectile?!), can't harm half of the robot masters (even heals Heatman), does pitiful damage unless the enemy stays put, and the blast radius is nothing to shout about.

King's fortress was pretty tough the first time around. Wily wasn't bad, though.

Since I recently got Mega Man and Bass I'll change my order around.
Hardest: Mega Man 1, Mega Man and Bass, Mega Man 8
Easiest: Mega Man 3, Mega Man 6, Mega Man 4

It gets easy if you keep on playing it. There's no one single part in the game that gives me a whole bunch of trouble.
lol, me and wow have the same choices for the 3 easiest ones. And yeah, Gravity Hold is pretty crappy.

How could anyone think Mega Man 1 is one of the easiest?

The worst weapon ever has to be the Top Spin from Top Man of Mega Man 3. However, it can take out Wily's final form in one hit.
Therefore, I'm voting for Gravity Hold (Gravity Man). To this day, I still have no idea how that weapon works. When it does work, it reverses gravity, kills the enemy, and sends them flying. However, it won't work on most enemies.
Hardest: MM1 (Ice Man's stage), MM2 (wall shooters in Wily's Stage #4 that can only be hurt by Crash Bombs), MM7 (Wily's final form) Easiest: MM4, MM5, MM6

Easiest: MM8, MM6, MM2 Hardest; MM5, MM7, MM&B
I picked Megaman 5 as one of the hardest, because the levels were hard. It took me tons of tries to get passed the falling crystals in crystal man's stage, and alot of time to get down the balloons in Wave Man's Stage. The Anti-Gravity in Star Man's Stage was cool, but there were alot of spikes in that stage. And Napalm Man's stage, when you get hit by the tigers, it hurts.

It's weird how everybody's choices differ on this. I guess it has something to do with play styles.
