Does anyone know how to create a motion trail in Flash? Say I have an object that's swinging through the air fast. I want to make it so that a faint trail can be see behind it when it swings. Anyone know how?

I haven't the faintest idea of how to create a motion trail in Actionscript. My Actionscript is limited to the 'stop' and 'goto' commands.

Isnt it smoother when its done through action script? seems like when something is tweened with alpha, its bogs down to like 2 frames per second!

Yeah, that's the only solution I can think of, but I want it tweened. It saves on file size and it looks much smoother. A friend sent me an example, but I can't make head nor tail of it.

Not sure, but in MX, if it is frame by frame (sorry, long time scince I made a flash) I used to just decrease the alpha behind the object with each frame.

say you have a ball on the left side of the scree, with an instance name of "ball". To make it move to the right with a faint trail, give it these actions:
