Small Town Justice

Lundsington, Montana was once a peaceful township in Pine County, a mountainous region in the northwest border of Montana, sharing a border with Idaho and Canada. Few people live in the small mountain community, with a total population of just under two thousand people, and almost all of the grown men working in the Cedar Mill, as it is the town's main source of revenue. The town is very peaceful, and it is an "Everybody knows everybody" town. There is a single Elementry School, and a Single High School, and the nearest community College is Six Hours drive away. Those that graduated High School would most likely move on with life and go to work in the Cedar Mill, Drive the Logging Trucks, or be out in the field cutting down the trees. The forests of the area would be cut down and logged, being sent to the mill to be cut and processed. The only way in or out of the community is a single highway into Idaho that would turn south towards civilization. Occasionally there will be an out of state visitor, that would stay for the week on a camping trip, but none have seen one in three years. Few people have ever left the town to relocate, as they enjoyed their peaceful way of life, but those who have, are the few accepted into colleges, or have left to join the Military. Few have returned from Military Service, in fact, none ever before have. The Cedar Mill has been purchased and closed down by a man that has recently moved back to Lundsington, putting all eight hundred workers out of their jobs. His name is Alec Hamilton, a man who once disappeared from Lundsington after graduating from the High School on a Football Scholarship to Stanford University. But he did not come back alone. Unbeknownst to the people of Lundsington, Alec Hamilton is a major crime lord and is leader of a crystal Meth drug syndicate that has moved into town with him. Hamilton is using the mill as his new Meth kitchen and storehouse and is harvesting heroine and marijuana within the mill. None have suspected this, falling for Hamilton's Good Samaritan and pure person ploys, and the Sheriff does not bother the very rich man as Hamilton now brings in the main source of the town's revenue. Using a brand new Casino and Strip Club as his front, Hamilton has been able to keep the public from suspecting him of any wrong doing, though significant changes have occurred. There has been rumor of prostitution within the Clubs and it is causing much debate with the city council whom have demanded more activity from the county Sheriff, William Rogerson, who has argued back with there being no reason to suspect Hamilton's Properties of any wrong-doing. Law and Order is now foreign to Lundsington and it is now time for a man to appear and take charge to stand up for what is right. Hospitals have received fifty times more people who have been overdosed on Heroine in a month than they have in thirty years, and most of them are teenagers. It now stands to the people to demand action from Hamilton, but who dare approach the most powerful man in the state? Now has come the time for someone brave enough to stand up for what is right and defeat this evil that marshals the township.

Where your tale starts: You will all be recruited as Deputies, but for now, you make up your bio and start your character off.

quote
Name:
Age: (No Less than twenty-five… no more than fifty-five)
Appearance:
Previous/Current Occupation: (Mill Workers must all be under "Previous") Your occupation does not extremely matter, but just for reference: No Martial Arts Instructors (for reasons of this being a small town and it is sort of outrageous), and Keep in Mind that this is a small town, so if you do happen to live in one, you will understand the occupation range. No one is currently a Deputy, and you must keep that in mind.
Character Biography:
Character Personality:
Vehicle: You must have a vehicle of Sorts, because we will not be using Police Cruisers in the beginning, until you reach Deputy Status. And here one must keep in mind that the story takes place far from Civilization and "supped up" Honda's and Race Car like vehicles will not be acceptable. Keep in mind also that the average salary of everyone in town does not exceed around 40,000 per year so when you choose vehicle, keep it in the range of the "average Joe" range of vehicles.
Weapons: None as of yet unless it is a house weapon like a standard pump action Shotgun, or a pistol, for household protection.
Sample Roleplay:This will only be provided in the PM to me. Once I have approved your character, bio, and sample RP, I will resend the profile to you, and you may post it.
The Wizard's Seven RP Guidlines:(For those who wish to join the thread... I'd keep these in mind for your sample roleplay)

1. As For writing style: You must write in complex paragraphs depicting the environment around you, changes that might happen in it, and describing actions. I am looking for a novellistic writing style so this sample before you will NOT CUT IT for those who wish to join.

quote
Billy ran through the doorway blasting criminals out of the way, ashe ran down the hallway.
Billy: die you SOBs!
He ran a cornera nd shot two gards infront of a door, and kicked it through. he then found Bubba Ray, and shot him threw the window. he fell down into the street and was killed instanaely.
Let us observe that there are gratuitous grammatical errors (NOT ACCEPTABLE) and that there is no describing of the scene what so ever. The Protagonist is simple going strait through the area, and the setting is not depicted, and the simple and straightforward action is detestable.

2. There will be no killing of main characters within the thread, as of those characters controlled by other RP'ers, unless given permission, which a copy of the PM's sent between RP'ers must be sent to me to verify that both parties accept the proposal to kill off a main character.

3. I have pretty high expectations on RP'ing so for all those Newbies out there, you're gonna have to step it up a notch if you want to make the cut. I am not being picky, I just have a few set rules so that constant grammatical, plot line, and character errors are not made.

4. Please Bring any concerns about story line, characters, or anything problems that you see in the storyline to me, and I will deal with them. I will not be accepting complaining about another person's responses to the thread unless they are justified reasons for your complaint.

5. Gratuitous Vulgarity within the thread will not be acceptable, though this thread is rated "M", unless justified within your responses as in terms to your character's environment. Using the S word and F word is not going to be permitted unless justified within the context of your thread. Using those words over and over is repetative and distasteful. Let us fall back to the use of "SOB..." If you are going to use the phrase "Son of a Bitch" do not fall back on the acronym, as if used in a situation where there is a gunfight or physical battle, it makes no sense for a person to call another a "SOB" versus yelling at them while fighting "You Son of a Bitch!" So please, keep your vulgarity in context and in proper use. I will be giving corrections if I see fit, and If I do see problems with the way you are using Vulgarity in context to your response, I will notify you, and if Problems are constant, you will be ejected from the thread.

6. Those that I have invited will not require Sample Roleplays, because I invited them for a reason. And I expect those who send me Applications to take their Roleplays and character descriptions Seriously.

7. There will be no speech colour for your characters. You will keep in text quotations in proper format as if you were writing a short story or as you would see in a novel with proper quotation marks and comma use. I will not allow you to set your character's speech out of context with the paragraphs as seen in the sample above. For those of you who are not used to my expectations you will have to adapt a bit to them.

Current Deputies:
(none)

School was out. Tygo sighed as he saw tyhe last kid leave his classroom. The day had been hard. Not particulary because the children were being annoying, but more because weird things have been happening lately. Some kids haven't made it too school the last few days. One or two of them have been taken to the hospital for undisclose dreasons. The thing is, it's starting to freak the other kids out. Tygo stood up and started to white the chalkboard. It seems he was more of a schoolcounselor lately, assuring all the kids that they would be fine. But as long as he didn't know what was going on, he could only make false promises. He had no other choice, what else would he say? He packed his little suitcase and wnet to the school cafeteria. Around this time, only a few students and teachers were here. Just to rest a little after a hard day's work. Where else would they go in this town. Tygo enjoyed it nonetheless. He could always have a nice talk with the people there. He was well liked by both the students and his colleagues, so that never posed to be a problem. He ordered a cup of coffee and sat down by the window, staring outside. He overheard a conversation of some kids sitting next to him. He heard something about Chris Vaughn returning to town. Heh, he rememberred him. Who wouldn't, actually. He was one of the few that actually made it out of this town. "Say? Do you guys know where he could be found?" Tygo asked. "No, Mr. Gernandt. We just heard that he would be arriving today."Heh, kids... They never try to get to know more about it. Ah well, it doesn't matter. He would go search town after he finished things up here. They actually haven't spoken much before Chris left. Only a few times. Chris was nearly ten years older, so Tygo kind of looked up to him when he left town. Now was a nice time to ask some things about the situation outside of the mountains. Tygo finished his coffee and exited the school. Dusk had set in. The sun was shining low above the mountains. It wa sa truly magnificent sight, but a sight he had already seen time and time again. He put his hand before his eyes to prevent to be blinded by the light. He walked towards the parkinglot and opened his silver Renault Laguna. He wa slucky to get that car so cheap. It was a rare car in the United states, but everybody in Europe was driving around in it. When he was ou tof town three years ago, he saw the car at a used car lot. He didn't hestitate a minute and bought it. He had saved a lot of money for a car anyway. He love the thing. It still worked great. He started the car and slowly maneuvred towards the main road of the town. He wondered where Chris could be at this time. Probably visit his folks. Tygo decided to just drive around a bit. Maybe luck was with him today.

It has begun
___________________________________
Chris Vaughn stepped off of the charter bus and onto the gravel sidewalk next to the Gas Station sign. He wore black trousers and black boots with a tight black t-shirt. The bus pulled away with the hissing of hydrolic suspension systems and the squealing of the shifting transmission, blowing out black exhaust as it slowly accelerated. The sky was cloudless and the sun was gleaming overhead as a cool light breeze blew through the mountain town of Lundsington. Vaughn tilted his head back and looked up at the sign he was standing next to. The sign read "Hampton's Gas and Grocery." Chris then bent down to pick up his large green bag that had his military rank, first initial, and last name printed across the bottom of the bag. Vaughn put his right arm through the shoulder strap and walked towards the entrance of the gas station. Vaughn pushed the door to the gas station open and the little golden bell dangling from the handle chimed. He noticed a man wearing a tank top, and there was a leather jacket draped over the counter-top, reading a sporting goods magazine. The man looked up to notice Vaughn as he set down his large bag and took off his sun glasses. Vaughn greeted the gas station attendant with a nod and he moved on towards the coolers where the drinks were stored. He pulled open the door and took an iced tea from the cooler rack. The man watched Vaughn from behind the counter and looked over at the large green bag by the door, reading the initials on the bag. As Vaughn approached the counter and set down his drink to pull out his wallet, the man behind the counter apoke up. "You're Chris Vaughn?" he asked standing erect. Vaughn looked up, smiling, and responded saying, "In the flesh." THe man quietly said to himself, "The Hammer." Vaughn chuckled as the man crossed his arms and sighed. He then said, "You probably don't remember me... do you?" Vaughn pulled a dollar out from his wallet and looked at the attendent's face, trying to remember if anything stuck out in his memory. He then smiled and asked, "Mathew Hampton?" Matt looked back and was wide-eyed and asked, "You remember me?" Vaughn nodded and said, "I remember when you were ten years old. You always used to come over to my house and stay for dinner and hang around me while I would be working on my car. I never did get that Mustang running..." Hampton smiled and said, "Yea I was a pest." Vaughn shook his head chuckling and said, "I wouldn't say that... but hey, I have to get to my parents' house, so I'll probably stop in later tonight, so we can catch up on lost times." Vaughn turned to go and Hampton asked quickly, "Can I offer you a ride?" Vaughn smiled, putting his sunglasses back on and said, "No thanks. I think I'll walk." The masculine ex-Master Sergent walked out of the store, sipping his iced tea, and began walking North down Centerstreet. Vaughn passed the old hardware store, walking up towards the old mill which was still a few miles up the road, and smiled as he saw the same old man through the window behind the cash register as when he used to live here. The ex-Master Sergent then continued on down the road, looking at some of the familiar faces that strolled down the side-walk, and those that weren't all too familiar. Off in the distance, down own Richmore avenue, he could see two large buildings with large signs that he couldn't quite make out. They were brand new, and he had never before seen them there. Vaughn frowned and kept on walking.

Two hours passed, and at last Vaughn made it up to the old Cedar Mill. The scent of freshly cut cedar, or the whines of the old sanders and power saws no longer filled the air, and he stood outside the Mill Gates, just looking at it. He looked left and right, looking at the old rotting wood that lay on the ground, that should have been processed and sent out. The shipping trucks were broken down and in horrible condition, and now a great sign covered the old "Cedar Mill Sign" that read "Condemned." Vaughn frowned, knowing now that his father no longer was employed. For a few moments, Vaughn stood there, just viewing the old Mill, and took off his sunglasses to get a clear view. He put his glasses back on, shaking his head, and turned to leave. As he stepped out onto the road, a County Sheriff cruiser pulled up infront of him, and inside was a bearded middle aged man with a big smile, wearing the stereotypical "cop sunglasses." With the bars on his shoulders, Vaughn knew that this was the Sheriff of the town. "Christopher Vaughn?" The Sheriff asked. "The one and only," Vaughn answered back, slightly annoyed. The Sheriff stepped out of his cruiser and took off his sunglasses. "You don't remember me do you?" The Sheriff asked. Vaughn nodded and said, "Of course I remember you. You were the star wide reciever for our team. John Schemp. And now it is Sheriff Schemp I see." Schemp nodded and smiled saying, "Yes sir. God damn... you are ripped. Look at you, those guns must be at least twenty inches around!" Vaughn slightly chuckled and said, "No, twenty four. But how did you know that I was here?" Schemp smiled and said, "You have been outta town for far too long. You know that when someone finds something out, then within a few minutes half the town knows. Damn... I found out an hour ago and have been looking for you this whole time!" Vaughn looked back at him, giving a look of curiosity underneath his sunglasses. "Well that's kind of you," He said plainly. "I wanted to offer you a ride up to your folk's house," Schemp said, putting his sunglasses back on. Vaughn shook his head and said, "No thanks, I can walk." Schemp then jokingly pulled out his gun, pointing it as Vaughn and said, "Don't make me arrest ya!" Vaughn was sent a little on edge and put his hands up saying, "Okay, okay. I'll go." The two then got into the cruiser and drove off coninuing down the road, towards the parents of Christopher Vaughn.

Character Biography: Michael didnt originate from this town. He was born in Holland, but because of unknown reasons, his parents left that country when he was 5 and they migrated to Lundsinton. But they led a quiet life in Lundsongton, so he din't complain. His options for the future were limited, but he enjoyed what he did as a teacher. Afte rhe graduated high school, he didn't want to move to another time, so he got stuck here. The best way to help community was to educate the youth, so he thought. But lately, the children were all absentminded. And a few just disappeared from school. He learned that a few of them ended up in the hospital. But nobody knew what was going on at the time. Michael decided to not get involved and to let the medics handle it. But he would get more involved than he could ever imagine.
