On a lighter note, i'm just noticing how flat screen monitors are so inexpensive these days. I saw a 14" one for about 150 USA buxx last week, and it was pretty nice. I just think the most awesome hookup would be a pda and a 10" flat screen monitor hooked up to it. That would rock for presentations, anywhere! I can't wait to see the hookups that will be done in 10 years with pdas and other media. How cool.

I just got an LG 600g phone for the holidays myself, and I REALLY want to get some interesting apps for it, but I don't want to eat up my time or minutes searching around manually. So, does anyone know of any good sites to acquire such apps?

I've only had one so far but I'm planning to buy a new one sometime this year. It's been two years since I last purchased a mobile phone and it got stolen a few months ago so I'm without one at the moment.

Wow, this thread hasn't been replied to in ages, out of interest how often does everyone get a new mobile phone? I get a new one every two years.

wow* that's alot, i heard that in china, or maybe it was japan... that mobile phone services are cheaper then land-lines so almost everyone has them. I mean why would anyone want land-lines anymore. The only problem right now is the quality. Especially on my Nokia...

Accroding to Nokia, today more calls are made by mobile phones than line-phones in Finland, when comparing the minutes spent on the calls. So around 50% of calls are mobile phone calls. Pretty interesting.

Word has it that Three UK will release the lovely Motorola A1000 on their network before the end of the year. With Vodafone's impressive line-up of no more than ten third-generation launch phones (including the more entertainment-based E1000 and Nokia's much-anticipated 6630 videophones), this really is the last Christmas that Three have total control over the 3G market. They need to make the most of it, and UIQ phones like this will seriously boost their chances. Rumours of even better value tariffs and the removal of the emplaced "walled garden" are also rife. The updated LG U8150 may also hit stores before December (although I'm content with the original LG U8110 until the great A1000 hits the street... or airwaves, even).
In terms of 3G, 2005 will see Orange, Vodafone, O2 (known as "mmO2") and T-Mobile all finally rolling out their 3G services into the "mainstream". The USA may also be treated to the service, but given the state of networks over there, it'll be unlikely to become widely available to consumers until the latter part of the year.
