Potter Covers Released
Check out the book cover for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

quote
March 21, 2003 - Harry Potter publishers Bloomsbury and Scholastic released the book covers for the fifth tome in the series yesterday, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Bloomsbury, the series' U.K. publisher, will have two covers for the book. There will be one version for adults and another version of the book marketed at children. [Bloomsbury] has posted both covers on their website – you can even send them out as an e-card. The Adult Version is a stark black and white image showing a phoenix and the Kid's Version is colorful illustration showing a phoenix rising from the flames. Neither U.K./International version features Harry.

The U.S. cover, released by Scholastic, depicts a wand-bearing Harry Potter looking over his shoulder in a candle-filled room with three doors. "Order of the Phoenix" appears in a whispy font underneath the traditional Potter logo. The book is illustrated by Mary GrandPre, who drew the artwork for all previous U.S. covers. Potter fansite The Leaky Cauldron spoke with a rep for GrandPre who says that she's already finished all of her art for the fifth Potter novel. Her spokesman also said that GrandPre had read the entire book, unlike the U.K. artist. The rest of us will have to wait until June 21, the book's scheduled release date.

What do you think? I say the UK fans got cheated out. I haven't seen the past covers for UK series, but the new US version goes perfectly with the rest of the books. Do the 2 UK versions have the same look/feel as the rest of the UK covers...or does it look off from the rest of the series?

One thing I like is the idea that the US Artist (GrandPre) actually read the book before drawing the art, unlike the UK artist (which probably only read the title, thus explaining a Phoenix on the cover)Edit: Changed Title

well it could be ... but the thing is that mundungus himself is a crook and he does alot of covert stuff for dumbledore in that sense... he could have been in hogs head because he was supposed to be ther under dumbledores instruction and the other possibiltiy is that he was actually a part of the death-eaters like snape and eventually defected from them... but that would be hard to conceal since mad-eye moody would be able to see the dark mark even if you tried to hide it...

Very good point.

I thought I uncovered a massive clue about a traitor inside the Current Order of the Phoenix earlier.

Dumbledore, while explaining how when he heard the prophecy, and how a Death Eater heard the first few lines and was then thrown from The Hogs Head. I could have sworn I heard of someone else being thrown from the Hogs Head during book 5 and then I remembered. Mundungus Fletcher. Sirius said so when he spoke to Harry in the Gryffindor fire shortly after Halloween. However, Sirius said 'Dung was barred from The Hogs Head 20 years ago, and the prophecy was told 16 years ago. Got excited that I'd picked up a very hidden clue by Rowling there

you know what , those were stuff that she guessed up ... i mean i could have come up with those predictions at that rate...the thing about the thing you least hope for... well does that not happen to harry every year at least for five times..

Well, even the "fake ones", like "someone leaving us forever" and "The thing you wish least will come to pass" ... Those were not completely untrue :/

well ever since the prisoner of azkaban... it is already a fact that she could not be a fraud.. although when she makes real predictions she herself does not know anything about it...she is just probably able to do it since she still caries the line of the seer within her blood

What do you guys think about Trelawney now? Is shw still a big fraud, or is she 100% correct all the time, or both, or only when she has her "small caps italics font" (heh) prophecies?

It makes it easier for the "Unmentionables" of whom work in the Department of Mysteries to know who they were made to and who by, there must be loads of Seer-style people in the Wizarding world.
actually there are'nt alot... remember what dumbledore said about Trelawney...that it was very hard to find real seer's these days..

well the prophecy itself was a small little ball.. so it would not have made sense to put the whole name in
Yes it would the ball is magic im sure some kind of enchanted voice could have said the name of the prophecy and the people/things involved just like that *snaps finger* but it isn't anything important..
