In this thread you can talk about animals that have since then passed away and share information about them so other people may know the joys and misfortunes of having a pet.

The pet that I lost a year ago was my pet hermit crab. Her name was Shelly and she had about 3 shell changes in her lifetime. I had her for about a year and suddenly she just got sick and passed away. It wasn't that hard on me though because I didn't have a firm bond with that pet (always pinched me!), but I feel for others who have lost their pets.

about two years ago my geanie pig fuzzball died It was less then a week after my dogs showed up and almost two days before my aunt and I were going to visit our family in anouther stat. my pigs had origenely been class room pets in a special needs class at the high school I now atend. my aunt also works there so when the special needs teacher fond out her new assistent was alergic to them and that she could not take them home she asked If I wanted them. I was in 5 grade at the time and origenely said no to them but after my aunt told me more about them I changed my mind. the next day I waited out side for her to come home with my new pets though I had to wait be for I would be alwad to play whith them since they need to get used to there new home. when I was finely alwad to take them out of the cage so I could like at them and name them, I took them both out and put them one my lap. they one of them cliamed of of my lap and under my dresser.I had to rech under and pull her out.She let out a blood curteling squek the according to my aunt on of the cats heard. later i Named them fuzzball and choclete bare fuzz passed away in 2009 she was about five years choclete is still alive and is now six she was one year younger then fuzz

It was late at night when I find out that she had passed away.I had tried to pick up her cage mate choclete but she ran into the pig house and I felt something cold. my aunt told me to put her in the shed nere the car port and bairy her in the morning. when I whent out side even the dogs ran to the door and looked like thay were going to crytoo.at the time thay were more or less strays in transition it becoming my dogs. I spent most off that night out side with them crying intill I was told to come in.in the morning I baried fuzz with the dogs by my side. later that day we took them to a frainds who agreed to take them while we were gone. I spent the rest of the day wondering around the house in an almost still shock. before that trip my guinea pigs had been my world but when we return I had some how changed and those two stray dogs became my everything.I still have choclete and I think about fuzz alot. I do miss her but the dogs have realy filled a voud that the pigs never could.

r.i.p fuzz aka chasity (that was the name her originel owner gave) her)

and you think that I didn't already knew that what I did was irresponsible? it was a mistake, nothing more... people learn from mitakes to be sure that they don't happen a second time.

due to the fact that I couldn't check upon them every day. (only in the weekends) and the freezing cold, my three oldest budgies passed away. atleast they had a chance to get offspring for 2 years which are now hopefully leading a good life.
the remaining budgie will get 3 new friends during Spring but there is no bird that can replace those three!
I genuinely don't mean this in a rude or accusing way, and maybe you can explain the situation better... but is it really the best idea to get new ones when the previous died due to lack of time/ability to care for them?
it was more that I didn't want to bother my parents by taking care of them for 4 weeks on the days that I couldn't. it was a temporal lack of time.
That's not an acceptable answer :-/

Incredibly irresponsible.

It's always sad when a pet passes away. I had a mouse and he was the best pet I ever had.

Bill's Story (I'll try to make this as short as possible):
Bill was originally going to be fed to a friend's pet snake, but I ended up convincing the friend to give the mouse to me. This all happened during a class lunch break, so I had to hide Bill in my bag while I finished my classes. I took him home and he lived with me for another 3 years. He had the funniest personality, he'd never use his wheel to excerise, but instead use it as his toilet (he was lazy, like me). One time I was sitting in a different room of the house and I looked down, and he was at my feet, just looking up at me. His cage was always on my desk, so I guess he must've jumped off and wandered around the house to find me.
I was at uni when I found out he was dying. I raced home and my dad told me he was shaking uncontrollably. I picked him up and he stopped shaking; I just kinda cuddled him for a while, then he passed away in my hands.

RIP Bill 2004-2006.
