It's great to see Obsidian excited about Project Eternity, it really is. It's also great to see them embracing the community-centric approach to design and and advertising that leads to weekly updates like the one this post is about. This week Obsidian released their first video featuring in-game footage of Project Eternity. It's, well... it's a 2D environment showcasing animations, lighting and various other effects.
While on its own it's not exactly a video I'd be outrageously excited to see, though I must admit for a 2D environment Obsidian has really stepped up their game, I can respect it for other reasons. The community of Kickstarter backers for Project Eternity have the opportunity every week to see what steps Obsidian has made forward on their project. It's the ultimate slow burn -- if fans can get excited about the evolution of this one scene, imagine their reaction to the full game.
Project Eternity is still at least a year away from its PC release, but Obsidian Entertainment is excited about it, the community is excited about it and I'm definitely excited to see how it evolved over the next twelve and more months. Here's update #49 on Project Eternity.
