For people who like to trade and wifi battle (like me) the constant cheating in gen 4 and gen 5 cheapened the experience of catching and raising pokemon. I know for a fact that at the very least cheating on 3DS would be difficult, the only action replay out for the system works exclusively on DS games and the only way people could likely cheat would be accessing the game through an SD card (provided Nintendo puts it on eshop). Or possibly trading already cheated pokemon from older games, but that would still make it impossible to cheat gen 6 pokemon.

Will X and Y be cheat proof? Cheat resistant? Or are we going to have a repeat of gen 4 and 5?

What do you think?

I don't cheat my games anymore, but I'm sure they won't be cheat proof. It would take away from the people that do, and there's a big fan base of cheaters in these games.

"Hacking" is only considered "cheating" when it starts to get unfair. Seeing as people only do it to save time then what's the problem with that? It therefore only becomes "unfair" to anyone that doesn't own a cheating device.

Getting the perfect natured egg is fine.

Giving a Spiritomb or a Sableye Wonder Guard is not.

Besides, the game has a built-in legitimacy checker with all Pokemon that go up for trade or online battles...

I just don't find it fair that I can spend hours working up a team and putting in the effort to make them their best and then someone with hacked pokemon can do it in half the time and be just as good.
Then join us on the darkside.

There should be two wifi separations between players: One for the true players, and one for the hackers.
It's a win-win situation.

You can use cheat codes but you cannot hack the strategy I will use against you

Just like athletes don't care if they're playing against people using steroids. Why waste months of conditioning and time at the gym when you can get the same muscles much faster?

Personally, I don't care, I just love taking jabs at people that are so self righteous about cheating.
A classic example of why a peanut is not an acceptable substitute for a brain.

A classic example of Horse not offering up any sort of substantial argument.
It was already given by someone on page two

XD Pikachu I see your point... I'm not against hackers because I have hacked in older games like pearl which I can't use wi-fi with. So idc if you hack, just making a point. If a game gets really tough I will hack it but never a Pokemon one only for walk through walls in like victory road or mazes (only in pearl I think). I leveled a litwick into a chandelure within a day with using pass power to boost exp. But some people that isn't quick enough for them.
