About a month ago, a plethora of new Batman domains were registered by Warner Bros. All of them contained Arkham in the title somewhere, which led to speculation on a new entry in the Batman: Arkham series. Nothing was said at the time, but that all changes as Time Warner's CFO John Martin confirmed a new Batman: Arkham game is arriving later this year.
The news flew under the radar during Time Warner's investor call last week, but luckily that's no longer the case. Martin stated the following during the call:
And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.
Now, the news of a new Batman: Arkham game is very exciting, however there's something else to go with it. According to sources, Rocksteady Studios, developer of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, are not at work on the sequel and it's unknown the exact studio handling it. Early rumors have pegged Rocksteady as working on a Silver Age prequel to the series that details Batman's first encounter with The Joker and members of the Justice League, which isn't likely to ship until 2014.
Whichever studio WB pegs has very big shoes to fill, but regardless of that, a new Arkham game is something to look forward to.

I'm calling Monolith for development duties. Venturing outside their FPS mainstay.
(Where's Condemned/NOLF 3? damnit).

A new Batman game is always welcome, but please let Rocksteady Studios work on it. They know what and how to do a Batman game.

I really hope it's good, depends on what studio is working on it. Cause I mean look at War Z

Well Rocksteady made the formula to a successful Batman game so maybe it can be copied.

Kinda worried, Rocksteady made some outstanding games, but I'm excited for a new Batman game.

Yup. Gearbox is guilty of this with the just released Aliens: Colonial Marines, a game with a legacy of failure dating back to a first attempt on the PS2 in 2002.
Also Randy Pitchford is a F******G poser A*****E. Need to run him over fitty' times. Can also blame Sega, they have a history of being behind garbage products that are either under supported or completely unfinished. Glad Marvel bitch slapped them and isn't giving them any more licenses for gaming.

I'm worried about it...By the way, outsourcing has become a common theme in gaming industry (to get more money in CEO's pocket)..the qualities of games have dropped significantly!!!!

I love the fact that Rocksteady came out of nowhere and told all them suckas how it's done in one shot. I liked Urban Chaos: Riot Response on the PS2 as well. Mix of Robocop meets Punisher. Second I saw the tac shield crash when a hatchet was thrown at it I knew they were not confined to box thinking.
