Hi,

As you are probably aware there is a big discussion on scripting issues with FIFA 13 this year and every day it is gaining momentum.

There is a blog that is currently discussing the issue and explains it in quite a bit of detail but better yet it actually tells you the best way to attempt to beat it.

http://fifa13scripting.blogspot.co.uk/

I would appreciate if you could take a look and maybe spread the word if you having the same issues. We need EA to do something about this.

This is a very interesting thread and it's been awesome reading some of the posts.
At first, I thought my gameplay was affected by my poor abilities or different moods. But I discovered that what caused my frustration were the UNFAIR and RIDICULOUS mood swings my players have. In one match everything's flowing magically. and in the next, it's a huge mess. I've given Fifa 13 many chances, always trying to focus and improve my gameplay but I've came to the bitter conclusion that this is in absolutely no way a fair game.
There is little reliance on skill. It all depends on how your players are " feeling today". I've taken the decision not to touch my Fifa 13 cd anymore. I'll stick to games that let me make my own decisions. Games that rely on true skill such as Battlefield 3.

This is a real mechanic that has been in since fifa 10. EA have openly called it momentum and can occur for a variety of reasons just like real life. However a fifa producer has said to ign that momentum will not be featuring in fifa 14. Google it if you don't believe me.
It's a poor design choice but one that establishes an evidently large player base so I doubt they really will take it out of 14. Especially after investing a lot into it over the years. Damn good monetization in fairness.

modern games like fi

totally agree with everyone here. i HATE the way games are going these days. It is so obvious to anybody who is a real gamer that the game is just ***king you over.

I am the same as everyone else i don't mind losing if i lose to the better player but it's so frustrating to lose to a ****ing kid who is actually SHIT at the game then he does some ****ing annoying celebration. this sort of **** is what causes serial killers to be born i swear.

SORT IT OUT EA YOU MONEY GRABBING *****.

a suggestion may be to maybe leave seasons alone at least for the real gamers ?? or maybe create a pro league section where the game is totally balanced **** sake i don't know but the game is so ****ing annoying AAAAAAAHHHHHHH

It's definitely scripted. I had it in my favour in a 2v2 match. We were Northampton (League 2) against QPR and we ended up winning comfortably 2-0. The oppo must have hit the post about 4 times, and our keeper had a stormer. We even scored a bicycle kick.

I was playing a bloke earlier who was sound (a rarity on online fifa!) and he was trying a UT of non-rares. Said he had a bit of success with it. I was using my best Brazil team, and I felt it. Hit the post 3 times (2 of which were I hit the post, bounced out to Pato who drilled it into the post despite it being an open goal). Both his goals were jammy as well, tackled his strikers twice in the build up to one, both time dropped straight to another of his players.

I'm gonna try building a team of 70-75 overalls with just important stats high for each position. See how I get on.

This game is definitely scripted. These were my match stats against my opponents

Me

Shots 23
Shots on Target 18
Possession 66%
YC 2
RC 0
Hit Post 4 times

Them

Shots 3
Shots on Target 1
Possession 34%
YC 1
RC 0
Didnt hit post at all

To cut a long story short: Fifa is f*****g scripted

So glad this topic and board exists. I've known myself about the scripting etc for months and months - the term "you can feel it through your pad" is absolutely bang on.

The saddest part of this is that nothing will change because as said, this has been implemented by a greedy company to make them wealthier.

Such a shame because after switching from pro Evo @ around fifa08 I championed the franchise to all my pro Evo friends. It took a couple of years but everyone eventually came over to FIFA. Sadly it went rapidly downhill from 12 onwards. Going from comfortably winning 20 games in a row on 08,09,10,11 to spluttering 1-3 wins then the same amount of losses. Initially I gave this game the benefit of the doubt, thinking perhaps I was struggling getting to grips with it.

However, whenever I play friendlys vs my mates I give them a pasting every time. My players perform, I feel in control again. But hey there's no money to be made in friendly games is there.

Cheers

Scripting is in fifa. I am a good fifa player but i noticed how computer can F$#K with you sometimes. My example is ronaldo. i had ronaldo and he was playing for like 16 matches and hes always making runs and everything he hits goes in. fifa then decide to *bleep* with my team and ronaldo being the player i rely on most of the time, they decided it was time for him to be on bad form so basically from scoring 40 yards screamers ronaldo could not score a one on one i was missing penalties with ronaldo and freekicks that i usually bang in was going 50 yards over. ive had matches where i hit the post 5 times the other keeper saves all my shots but then the other team has 1 shot and my keeper cant *bleep*ing save it.

God this game just reminds me of how much I hate video games nowadays. All about money nowadays.

"Thrilling moments". "unpredictability". Translation: Rubberbanding. Not only does the *bleep*ing thing contain rubberbanding it actually uses a SCRIPTING engine well!

Reading Rutter's comments on IGN.... So this is why I sometimes concede "huh?" goals? I.e, after dominating him for a while he then attacks running straight at my defender I make an attempt to control this defender, nothing, then, poop, my defender auto runs away towards the crowd or something to sign some autographs.

Or a bullshit defense that suddenly goes from ok to suddenly rampantly acting like this at the beginning of this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5g1bT-t_cc whilst the game doesn't let me control my defenders or desired ones for the majority of the second half or something.

Not my video btw.

Argh!

Not to mention your players will suddenly feel all sluggy & unresponsive.
