After going through Join Avenue yesterday, I realized how great the area was. When I first read about it, I thought it was a multiplayer feature that I wasn't really going to be able to use. However, two shops have been opened up without any interaction with another game.
So far, I have a fitness shop and a café, both of which I've seen as pretty nice additions, even in their beginning stages.
I don't remember exactly what each shop gives me what atm, but I know that EV's can be boosted as well as happiness and a Pokémon's level.
Looking through Serebii, what each shop holds changes between either game, and more can be unlocked by interacting with other Unova games, including B/W.
So, how's your Join Avenue?

My Join (named it Bang ) Avenue is level 14. There are 8 stores, level 6 average. I'm aiming for the nursery at level 15.
"Bazinga"! "Aeeita"! Are some common slangs in my Avenue =)

People having problems with Join Avenue? Every day they re-stock based on your location (Mine was midnight I think? Sometime while I was asleep anyway) which is great for Ev training, so I'm not sure about peoples stocks not refilling unless your playing with the clock.
Mines only a lv 8 Avenue atm but definitely appreciating some of the items sold there, especially the Gym and Pokemart. Trying to get the daycare now i've beaten the elite four!

The easiest way to make money is to play in the dream world and grow the berries that sell to the berry maniac for $30,000 a piece. There are a number of them widely in circulation (Mickle, Custap, Joboca). After this latest tournament there will be a 4th in circulation soon. They do take 96 hours to grow but they give you 5 berries a plant for well watered berries. You can transfer 20 berries a day of one type, so the more varieties you have the more money you can transfer in one day. If you had all three of the ones I mentioned that are easy to obtain, you could transfer 60 berries in one day which would net you 1.8 million in a single day. Visiting the dream world also yields you Join Avenue visitors which gives you more points per/day to make your avenue level faster. I am up to level 73 now.

My Join Avenue just reached rank 10, so I named it Aincrad. They call me Pwnage.
The Magnemite coil trick really helps. But I have a problem: How do you recruit people? No one wants to be my assistant. D:
