- One sentence replies that add no discussion value to the thread are not something that we are looking to see. Posts that are well structured and easy on the eye are what we are trying to attain.
- Constructive criticism of updates is very welcome however blatant abuse is breaking the rules and will not be tolerated.
- This thread is an overview of what we are aiming to achieve in terms of post quality. All member's are advised to look at this thread before posting so that you know how to maintain a respectable posting standard in this forum.
Now that quite a few of us have got the season ticket (I got it an hour ago). We can now start discussing our Career Modes. I know lloyd and standrfc have it downloaded now.
I have started as Newcastle and I have brought in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for 8.5m (bargain!), Grant Holt for 2m, Theirry Henry for 3m and I am in the process of buying Kurt Zouma. Won all my friendlys, beat Monchengladbach 5-1, Genoa 3-0 and Real Sociadad 1-0. Now have Tottenham. This is a massive improvement on Fifa 12's career mode aswell, a massive improvement indeed...

I want to do another Arsenal career and mimic the likely transfers to happen. Obviously the budget in real life is more than 19 million, so I would make a created player and sell him off.
My question is how much extra budget do you think would be accurate? A player worth 18-20 million would be accurate, so I have a budget of about 35 million? That'd be enough for Higuain and Fellaini, etc. who are looking likely in real life.

I sold Aguero for £58 million so made a £20m profit and used £38M of that to re-sign Neymar, I signed Lucas for £7m+ Ben Arfa. I now have too many good players so hopefully i'll be able to sell a few, I think Vermaelen, Dembele and Marveaux will probably be sold if I get decent offers for them.
I finished 2nd in the league in my second season, I was 5 points clear at the top but a run of playing City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd all in a row wiped that out, I also got to the CL final but lost to Barcelona in extra time, in the semi I lost 2-0 to Bayern at St James' Park but then won 3-1 at the Allaianz which was an amazing result. I managed to win the FA cup though beating Chelsea 3-1.
What difficulty are you playing on?
World class, i've tried increasing to Legendary but I get battered every game because my defending is still shit after two years of the new system. I know most of this is totally unrealistic, but with the quality of the team I had built the achievements were about right.

Estrada, Njie and Hooman are scouted players. I also have Moses (87) but he is out for 6 months! Loving the team and I haven't had to buy anyone from the last 2 transfer windows because my youth academy is awesome!
Just saw it. Looking good, how come you're not playing Destro in the starting XI though?
I play a 4-2-3-1 with Lamela, Totti and Wilfried Bony supporting Osvaldo up front. All four of them do well for me so I can't really justify playing Destro ahead of any of them at the moment. Totti is 36 though so I don't think he has long left before he retires. I'll probably work Destro into the team once Totti is gone.

I've found that those websites seem to be a bit off when it comes to exact player overall potential.
For example, I went on to that link above and looked at the potential that the site gave me for De Gea, Nani, Kagawa and Jovetic as they are all players that I have used a lot in my Man Utd career mode. According to that website De Gea's potential is 83, Kagawa's is 84, Nani's is 86 and Jovetic's is 88.
In my Man Utd career mode (which is about five seasons in) De Gea is rated 91 and Kagawa, Nani and Jovetic are all either 93, 94 or 95. If you play them enough, young players will grow massively. I haven't used El Shaarawy long enough to know for definite if he would reach mid-90s but I'd say he would reach about 95 also.
