So as usual, people exploited the gamed and duped a bunch of stuff, and of course the entire game had to be punished. I lost 6 levels and 4k NX on my Spearman because of the roll back that they had to do to "save the game economy". I really hate Nexon sometimes..

Thought this amusing.

Ultimately poll is going to change nothing. What's wrong with the game is very core to it's being at this point, and not something nexon will, or perhaps even could change at this point.
I wrote up a huge post to put here after that, but decided to split it instead. So the rest of my response is over there Dragonclawz.

Maplestory still has a lot of innate issues that hasn't been raised through those questions that are causing those problems. Mainly due to it being such an old game and having quite a baggage attached to its name
Took a 2 month break from Maple to log in today. Nothing's changed, got the same feeling I got when I decided to take a break from it. Guess I'll wait another couple months or so and see what I feel then.

What did everyone think of the Poll that Nexon recently did, asking players the level of importance of various aspects of the game to them?
What happened to MapleStory? I miss the old days when it was hard to level. I mean seriously, I miss just complaining about grinding because it gave me motivation to play the game. I liked games when they were harder and evolving ways to level up faster etc.
Idk. Just my two cents. hi everyone.
In my opinion, right now nexon's in cash grab mode. They want to make the most out of the life MS has left before they attempt to corner the same market again with MS2, which is slowly but surely starting to get news releases. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Holiday 2014 release window for it considering how long it's been in development by now. The rampant issues I'm seeing ingame is really making the game feel like it's falling apart at the seams, and cash shop items are only becoming more and more relevant.
A lot of MS's current issues are from it having too much content without any focus. The landmass is huge but 90% of it is worthless, and since the game's population has taken a nosedive, it really becomes apparent. That being said nexon is making some smart moves to make the most out of the future. Party Quests, all of them, are currently held within one room, and from there you make your party, pick your NPC, and go. Nexon's further consolidating it so the room is the same map across all worlds (so, you could party quest with Scanians, as a Broan), because in most worlds it's very dead. They're also raising the minimum requirements to make a guild by a lot, which should help solidify bigger guilds and a greater sense of community within them. Also Mastery Books and Skill Books are going away. Skill Books completely, Mastery Books are becoming two items, one book that raises any skill max to 20, and one for 30. Fixing the issue of there being 23908502 skill books (finally), and freeing up a lot of opportunity for the dying Free Market. (Well, FM isn't dying per say, but it's been greatly affected by the overall drop in pop)
Which, you know, all good things, but these are sprinkling in over the next like four months or whatever in various patches.
