Continuing from the last thread....

So, ordering a 13" macbook air this week. I'll be dual booting Windows 8 for some things but will mostly run OS X. Steam is a life saver here!

Yeah, it has potential to be good, perhaps through a paid subscription system. My guild's Blade and Soul branch uses Discord as it's easier to leave messages for each other, but for GW2 and other games, Teamspeak still reigns supreme for us for voice comms.

Crusad3r The permission system is rather wonky, but I find the audio quality and latency to be more than acceptable. In some of my servers, we have music bots that play music at a "good enough" quality, so the bit rate is decent.
Try use a discord server that's not from your continent. 2+ second delays and robotic sounding voices all over the place. Considering my guild on GW2 is international and has members from EU, NA, SEA and OCX, having that sort of shitty performance from a voice platform is just unacceptable.
It's not a voice platform primarily though, it's trying to be a catch-all, kind of an IRC replacement. That's not to excuse it's relatively poor voice performance, but it does explain why it is why it is.

I'm excited to see where Discord will go, I think it has a lot of promise and if the devs keep pumping out improvements at their current rate, things should prove interesting this year for the internet.

I've never had that issue, surprisingly. I mean the voice server is usually NA, but the people from EU, Asia, etc never sound bad, really. Not in my experience, anyway.

I heard you play VOEZ?

Discord seems to be the new hot thing. I don't...especially like it, I really want some themes to shrink the UI considerably and let me adjust colors, but it definitely shows promise. Wish something would show up to kill Skype already though, it's popularity is waning enough as it is, I would love a more clean video chat client to take center stage.
I touched VOEZ a bit, but didn't really feel compelled to play it more even though it is fun. too busy playing idol games

I use custom CSS on my web discord because I don't like their "Cozy" or "Compact" theme, and it works rather nicely for me. I moved my main friend group from Skype to Discord and haven't looked back since, plus my two main communities that I interact with are there, so I'm usually on it all day. It could use work, but I haven't been this tied to one unified platform in a while which is nice.

Discord's audio quality and latency needs to be improved dramatically to be usable. Not to mention customisability. It's so very locked in its UI and permissions. Still pref Teamspeak > Mumble > Ventrillo

Yes, Tiffany. Totally not Dynamite

RabidChinaGirl, Bluexy, Storm, and a couple others all play or have played as well. I think I still see RCG on occasionally, but haven't seen Blue on in some time, and I know Storm hasn't played recently.

Also been playing Overwatch. It makes me feel like I'm bad at video games, but is also so much fun. Like everything TF2 did well, but better. And without all the nonsense League's been doing recently.

Heyo! Wow it feels weird to be posting here again. I barely remember that Neoseeker existed, much less this forum that I called home before moving to good old "42" (Anime) heh.

I managed to bump into MegaBassMan completely coincidentally on a Discord server and he reminded me of this place. It's nice seeing familiar faces again despite how many years its been. Looking forward to reading your replies in a few months from now.
forums seriously never die for some reason. People end up looking at them even though they quit long ago (such as me)..

It's actually incredible, I have so many memories on this forum, especially here and the Tekken ones omg.
Forums built well ideally have a strong enough central "core" that they're unable to die. I guess that just means the MS forum was a success in it's own little world.

How goes the pro stuff?
