Any NA player can accumulate an additional 10,999,999 GR points beyond GR 30. For EU players, they can accumulate 12,999,999. If we get a patch that evens out GR requirement, do NA players then need to catch up with 2 million more points? This is just something my friends and I have discussed. What do you think will happen? It's hardly unfair if we do need 2 million more points to GR 31, because EU needs many more points than NA just to GR 30.

Imo the GR points were not resetted. To some it felt like that but it was just reflecting the raise of points you need for a GR level. Before the patch, you maybe needed 1 million to the next GR level, after the patch was installed you suddenly needed 3,5 millions or something lol. But the points you earned remained. At least on my side.
I had a friend whose points reset to 0- I'm pretty sure it was a glitch for him, and I heard the same from a few others. But for most, it happened as you described.

I'm not so sure...
When the patch hit for EU, most GR points count were reset, not reshuffled percent/number wise.
For instance, people needing something like 3mil to GR 30 before patch ended up needing 12mil or so... With any luck, you'll not need to regrind out 10 or more mil or anything... But at least you won't de-GR level.

I wouldn't say it's unfair for US players to have smaller GR requirements because EU also have same requirements before patch so i guess they leave it for US because they got game later then EU,if we ever get new patch they will probably add 13mil requirement for US players,which is the same in JPN from GR30-GR50.

My counter is blocked at 12,999,999, it's 2 millions difference, not 3. If they decide to correct the points needed, it'll do like for EU players, you'll see players say "I needed 2 millions for my next GR and now I need 4.5, WTF !" or something like that.
Just know that the points needed for US players is a mistake, they should need the same amount as EU and JP players, but they don't and it's unfair for EU players.
It's likely that you'll need to get 2 millions GP to rank up to 31 instead of 1 GP if they release a patch like that.
