can someone please shed some light on the subject as there are many mixed rumors around. is it unreleased content? DLC? or just a mod. Just saw a player named invincible with it. He seems to be the highest ranking pawn if you search the rift.

Capcom has stopped reporting people that are unlocking the DLC, but Microsoft can still theoretically ban you for save editing since it is against TOS. It is, however, unlikely.. as the edit only effects you and it would be like turning away a customer that isn't harming anyone.... except Capcom, of course.

No, but it is against Microsoft and Sony's Terms of Service.
Is it Xbox? If so, it's probably one of the disc locked items that they gained early access to by save editing the xbox version, hex editing values to switch a piece of dud armor into another kind. Capcom stopped trying to ban people once the save editor was released as so many people started using it. :[
