quoteEpisodes : 26 (?)The story follows Kirito and Asuna, who are trapped in the virtual reality game Sword Art Online along with 10,000 other people. Death in the game meant death in real life, and the only way to get out is by completing the game by clearing all 100 floors of the world they are in.
quote GlaceonGuyI agree. I was told by someone that it failed to follow the setup of the LN's.I always found SAO a little mediocre. The first arc was fine, I quite enjoyed it(not as much as other anime, but still), however when the second arc came around, I was a little disappointed.Spoiler:possible spoilers
Kirito didn't have much of a time limit to save Asuna. I mean, what, he was scared of her getting married? The moment she woke up she would probably have to give consent, which she wouldn't. And that side plot with his sister/cousin? What was that, incest? Why? Even the action portions were less fun and less fulfilling than the first arc.
Overall: SAO is mediocre at best.
quote The Player 75The previous foe owned an entire Company he had resources, he was a threat because of that because he was a Game Master.Spoiler:kinda a spoiler?
i guess that's better than having administrator-level controls over the game like the last guy.
quote The Player 75To answer your question Death gun has a gimmick, but it's not related per se to powers, he discovered a flaw he can exploit.Spoiler:ep. 3 thoughts
I kinda like the backstory of Shinon. I'm glad that the show is slower than it was in the first season and is actually giving time for the characters to develop. At the end of this episode though, I'm having flashbacks of the villain from the Fairy arc. I hope this villain isn't just a creepy dude with strong powers
Next episode, can't wait!
quote MegaBassManYeah I thought the same, the first arc was pretty good but things went downhill in the second one. That's how I felt until recently. Rewatching it I realize how well executed the first arc was.
The second arc was terrible, though definitely.
