The cover is to include Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin. I like the way the article starts out by saying, "As if Kobe Bryant needed another reminder, it's becoming more apparent he's no longer at the forefront of the NBA's hype machine." Thought that was pretty funny, especially coming from the LA Times.
I'm kind of disappointed they would put Blake Griffin on the cover, one of the biggest floppers in the league next to his partner in crime Chris Paul. They definitely should have had Rondo over Griffin on one of the cover options for the game.

Haha, that would be hilarious to see.
Also just realized that this is the first NBA 2K game to feature more than one athlete on the same cover. Looked it up to be sure and also remembered how Iverson was the cover athlete for the first five 2k games.
PBS - Don't forget about another Clipper, Reggie Evans, as one of the biggest floppers around. His flops have made ESPN's Not-Top-10 on more than on instance I believe, haha.
They should start marketing these for games. Instead of those gigantic cut-out faces of players, fans should carry around huge signs that say Flop City on it to Clippers games.

Psst. We have an NBA 2K13 forum now for discussion on 2K's next intallment. ^___^
Dragonfist - LBJ will eventually get his cover, don't worry about that. I'd be surprised if he never graces a cover of an NBA game, unless his contract or something restricts that sort of thing. =P

I like the notion of going with the younger guys after settling for players long out of the game for the past two covers, and I'm not overly fussed with those selected. That said, I do agree that Rondo definitely deserved a shot at the cover, and wouldn't be shocked to hear that he was in the final five or so that they selected from. Hoping that he'll get the honor sometime in the future though.

When was the last time they had a current player on the cover who actually won a ring besides Kobe?

I think it's a travesty that LBJ is not on there. What will it take for him to finally grace the cover of an NBA game?
