Hello Everyone,

So, I've been searching a little here and there online for some thoughts regarding this.

I understand when you rest at an inn (or what have you) you:

1) Send an update of your main pawn to the server
2) Get an update on their other-worldly travels (if any)
3) Pass time and heal HP

I've always wondered why sometimes when I get the notification that my "pawn assisted" somewhere I'll either:

1) maybe get an item and a few hundred rift crystals or
2) get a popup regarding players that "hired" my pawn, maybe get some items, get ratings and receive substantially more rift crystals.

What is going on?

Does "assist" mean my pawn spawned in someone's world along the road and helped with some local baddies but never got hired?

Does "assist" mean my pawn was in fact hired but maybe killed instead of released formally at a rift stone? Hence no rating or gifts?

I did a search on these forums but I'm not even sure what to search for. As is, I wonder if this post even makes enough sense to answer.

Thanks in advance to anyone that has any thoughtful ideas about this.

But why would the game pretend my pawn's getting hired??
It's part of the lore of the game's universe.
Your world is not the only one and pawns is said to travel the rifts between worlds. So from that perspective it make sense your pawn may visit other worlds and help others and bring back stuff even in an offline environment.

Now that I have a better understanding, I agree.

This is a fairly decent feature they added. Having all the random game generated pawns available and your pawn "assisting" in other worlds does support the game's lore. Not only that, in a few months/years when the player base tapers off the game won't be broken.

Just to simulate the online experience I guess.

That, and as a source of RC for you. It adds up over time, and can you need all the RC you can get if you want the more expensive rift store items XD

It's just a random feature.. there's no really good answer for it.

Ah I see. Thanks for the answers everyone!

I never considered the game would simulate that. It makes sense now.

Online however, you get rated. Unless they die, I'm not sure what happens then.
You get a generic 3 stars, no gifts and minimal(if any) rc.

My pawn.......is apparently known for being a suicidal psychopath.

Game is set to pretend you were hired.

Try it in offline: you'll still get items for your pawn aiding someone.

Online however, you get rated. Unless they die, I'm not sure what happens then.

I'm pretty sure that if your pawn isn't hired for a while the game will just kind of simulate it. Ever since my pawn got past a certain level she stopped getting hired all the time. It's rare that when she brings stuff back, theres a PSN associated with it.
