Go for the narga hammer and Ceanataur S armor.
You can get to purple sharpness with the narga hammer and the difference in the damage formula for the sharpness multiplier is quite big (1.3 for white sharp and 1.5 for purple).
Thanks to the massive crit rate of the narga hammer (50%) it's average damage is very close to that of the ceanataur head axe but since you can have purple sharpness that'll be the factor to make the biggest difference.
I'm considering hammering this quest, and was wondering what hammer would be the most efficient in taking it down. I currently have the Ceanataur Head axe and Onslaught. However, i am considering making the purse bop due to it's thunder attrb. Suggestions?
Don't waste your materials, raw is the way to go with GS/Hammers. What armour do you use?
If you use a S+1 armour whichever hammer has the higher sharpness bar would be the one to grab, in this case both max out in the white sharpness and there's only 52 attack points difference(which if run through the damage formula gives about 3-8 more damage) so it really comes down to your prefferance.

And here he is, hammer weapons are excellent, you can stun wyverns, gn_x00 is right, anyways use Ceanataur head axe 1144 is good raw power.

I hear that in hammer, Raw> Element, so go with highest raw and sharpness weapon you can make. I'm not a hammer expert, so maybe you should wait for some other advice
