I was on my way to the shadowfort fighting stray goblins and i got the attention of the dragon that roams the wilderness. Not wanting any of that i ran away without hesitation. Next thing i know my plain longbow and ebon neck wrap are dragonforged and i get the trophy. I didnt expect that at all. Has it happened to anyone else, or just a lucky bug for me?

Yes, it's still there But I recomend complete rush through ng+ for fully dragonforging..

Dragonforging still exist postgame right? I'm dragon farming and trying to finish getting some of my ranger armor leveled up and still have not gotten lucky. I killed drakes before beating the game and I would always get stuff forged.
Thats weird. I killed so many drakes, wyverns, and wyverns and none of my equipment has been dragonforged yet.
The highest chance you can get is 30% if your gear is 3 stars. Lower stars = lower chance for normal fights. It's almost like a treat... or a reason to grind.

I also had my equipment become dragonforged while coming from the shadowfort. The thing is though i did not encounter the dragon when it happened, nor did i encounter him anytime recently because i am only level 40 and don't think i am strong enough to beat him yet so i make sure to stay clear. I was at the rest camp and just walked out of it to look for gloamcaps for upgrading equipment when it popped up saying my laborers breaches have been dragonforged. It also gave me the trophy as well. Could this just be some glitch in the game?

You have to kill the Drake for Dragonforge. It's really rare..

Is it just super rare to get? I got burnt like 5-7 times in my last drake fight and didn't get squat

When i farmed Drakes for DragonForging stuff I tested. First standing infront of the fire 5 kills. Nothing happened untill the Drake was dead. After I killed him 5 times without getting hit. Things still got DragonForged...
