it's a rumor but I heard the release date will be released soon the date not the update just the date.

As far as I know, the only thing we've been told is September. It's a huge update, so you can't expect them to have it for a long time anyway.

Yeah I read the news article wrong, It was mentioning after 1.7.3 that they intend to get the game to 1.8 next and get the adventure mode placed in as well.
There is no adventure mode in 1.8, it is only called The Adventure Update. Adventure mode was just released on a weekly snapshot for the PC.
I think what oni_hero was referring to was Creative Mode, which will come with the Adventure Update. 1.8 is also going to quite difficult to pull off, so we might not be seeing the update for a while.
update 1.7.3, from what I can tell, will most likely hit in july, with bug fixes and such coming in june.
The update most notably contains: Pistons Shears Clay spawn fix Reskinned Cobblestone Redstone is now needed to set off TNT
I'm sure there is a shit ton more I am missing, but after that, they are said to be working on getting the 1.8 or 1.8.2 "adventure mode" over to the xbox, and quite frankly that is the one that I am most looking forward to.
