After seeing this in another thread, these games have really caught my attention by including battles with previous Leaders and Champions from other countries in the Pokémon World.
I really want to know if there is some kind of reward system involved, like BP in the Battle Frontier (or if it replaced the Frontier, really hoping not) or if EXP can be gained. If either, it would be pretty cool and rewarding.
So, what do you guys think of the PWT?

Except they're both right there in the scan, people are not speculating that Gio will be there, he is.
Their designs haven't changed one bit, it's all non-canon fanservice what-if's.
Darn. I was kinda hoping if Giovanni was involved in the storyline somehow, it could turn out he was a distant relative of the legendary younger brother seeking "ideals," and Ghetsis could return as the one seeking truth. If they were to have some kind of massive war much like the brothers did in the ancient past (with Kyurem involved somehow) it could even be used as a way of explaining the Unova Ice Age.
Oh well. Just a thought.
EDIT: Nevermind, just remembered Ghetsis wasn't seeking truth, he just wanted to trick people into releasing their pokemon so he would be all powerful. Possibly N could represent truth.

I don't see how Giovanni could be at the tornament at all. Surely he'd be a wanted criminal after the events of RBY? I mean, he took into hiding afterwards, and hasn't done his prison time as far as I know.
I see blue possibly taking his place.

Ah, well, it could be that Wallace isn't deemed as important enough to feature in the showcase since he was only Champion for one game, and was a change from the former Champion within the same regional generation.
Also what has caught my eye even more was that they did include Giovanni who isn't a Gym Leader now, but they couldn't Wallace when they included both Blue and Lance. Wtf?
Do we have a full complete confirmed list of trainers to be included in this feature? I know we've got the scans showcasing a great number of trainers involved but I don't know if we have a final complete list yet.
I know it's not complete, but isn't it a little odd that when all other champions are shown he's the only one missing?

Stop trying to make sense of it. It's awesome.
The practical part of me says we'll only see fan favorites instead of everyone, but hey every time I've listened to that practical part I have been proven wrong. Personally I can't wait to see more Hoenn Gym Leaders/Elite 4. Can't wait to see their new sprites!
Heck yeah I would love it, but I can't figure out one thing. How can Giovanni and Blue both be there. Giovanni no longer holds the leader position. Or is Blue the Champion? So this leads us to the point that we're at the time of R/B/Y. Who the heck Lance is then? No one else from e4 was in there and He was shown along with all the other Champions. Are we like travelling through time or something..
If they're attempting to have this make sense storyline wise then the time period would have to be around HG/SS time at least, or a little later. The designs of characters that span multiple games seem to be using their HG/SS designs, which reinforces that.
So why Giovanni then? Probably "just 'cause". Maybe he's gatecrashing the tournament for the hell of it or part of some evil plan. Let's face it, the Pokémonverse's solution for any criminal activity is to have a kid beat them at Pokémon.
Yeah, I know it's senseless, but it's Nintendo after all. Also what has caught my eye even more was that they did include Giovanni who isn't a Gym Leader now, but they couldn't Wallace when they included both Blue and Lance. Wtf?

This has got to be the most exciting thing about the games thus far. I hope we can use it as a way to gain EXP since we didn't have much choices, but I kinda doubt it.
