There are two reasons I want to voice myself about as to why I refuse to use the covenants or PVP past the need to get the miracles for the trophy.
1. Because of the many glitches in the first place. And it takes forever to find anybody unless your in very specific areas. Plus the summon sign is designed weirdly and i cant even summon my friends for some fun.
2. The game is already super tough. Everyone is already frustrated. Now throw in a gravelord servant thats at least SL100 higher than you thats trolling everyones world so they can't progress further and even making the game harder. Personally I feel bad for killing another player. Usually you invade them while theyre just using some humanity and are ready to do something specific, where all of a sudden you show up and kill them and walk away with everything, pushing them back to their previous bonfire. The games already pissy and frustrating enough without a dick player coming in to your game and chain backstabbing you to death with weapons you've never even seen.
So thats it. What do you think? Do you PVP and have fun with it? or are you on my side in that when some invader or gravelord servant traps you so you can't even play the game right, you feel bad for doing just the same. Discuss or not, just wanted to say whatever. And yes as you may have guessed I have had VERY many rage sequences with other players coming and killing me. Most recently a super high leveled gravelord servant trolling my tomb of the giants when I'm trying to get the rare weapons off the NPC phantom. He wont die and even when I quit from my game, my worlds still cursed... ridiculous.

Well the demons servers close down forever at the end of this month so enjoy while you can tho pvp is just if not more broken there most of the griefers and exploiters learned it in demons. Tho a personal fav to see is running firestorm when u see a phantom running after you with a constant fire storm in his wake then tell me dks is as broken as u think. XD enjoy

I'm really hoping they fix all this as we know they will in their next installment in the souls games. The gameplay isn't perfect, though they have made massive strides since demon's souls which I am eagerly waiting for in the mail to experience for the first time.
For now I'm done with this game. I got platinum and beat the game three times and I'm content with demon's for a while. When they make the next game, I'll definitely pick it up day 1 for sure, and hope to god the pvp is well redone.

PVP in this game is pretty garbage. Too many animation exploits, unbalanced weapons, and no balancing between player levels results in a poorly designed PVP experience. Was even worse when the ring of fog wasn't nerfed. Any time I get invaded I just sign out and back into PSN. Takes like 30-40 seconds to load the save again, which is about as much time as it would have taken, if not longer, for the griefing phantom to find you. Only really a loss if you have a coop buddy already grouped.
I get annoyed that other people are able to backstab me from the front whilst I struggle to backstab even from behind sometimes. But other than the fact backstabbing is 'broken', I really enjoy PvP.
This. 95% of my PVP matches end when I get backstabbed from the front. Or I will be mid roll and there's a backstab animation and I die. That or I take someone down to 10% health and then they run away and hide, and when I find them they spam firestorm. So rarely do I get a fair fight that I am no longer excited for PVP. Bummer

After you beat the game, there's little else to actually do cept for PvP. This game is the BEST through virgin eyes (First playthrough, blind, blah blah) but it's replayability and fun level drop dramatically afterwards. To remedy this, PvP is a great way to increase the life and interest of the game.
If you don't like the online, PvP aspect of it, play offline. That's what I did till I got the hang of the game, or while I was working on a build solely for PvP, because I knew online would just hinder my progress.

Pvp can be really fun if you can find ppl who play it as a duel and not griefing or a lagstab chain user, figure pvp is what keeps me playing you can only beat the game so many times b4 you get bored. Plus it give you a chance to really get some use out of those weps you wanna try. started a char to use artorias great swd not cursed cause I really like it, and made him for pvp with my best and fav wep as a second, my beloved shotel and the balder swag " side" swd as a back up. pvp is what you make it and with the most certain new areas ( cause I don't think the developers are heartless enough to just give the new stuff to pc) it keeps u on your toes and actually makes u react faster and makes you better in story parts when your like me and on NG+++++++++++++ and one mistake and your dead even with 50 vit. so take it for what it. Is enjoy it cause pvp ain't going anywhere its basically half of what makes this series as great as it is. (and sorry my punctuations and grammar errors kinda not in the mood to fix them)

My interest in this game would have died out long ago without PvP, yes stun lockers are annoying but the community of Dark Souls are honest good people for the most part. If you send them a message asking them to use a different weapon 9/10 times they'll respect your request.
It probably has the best community I've seen, to be quite honest.

I love PvPing, but I see where you are coming from and agree with you. It can be very frustrating getting double and triple teamed in the forest.
I don't ever invade anyone, only let them invade me, and I HATE backstabbing. I think its cheap and annoying, especially getting double and triple.
I haven't played this game in a really long time, but the only reason I would go back would be to PvP.
