Just a quick bit of feedback on these newfangled thread tags. Whilst I'm not fussed on their presence either way, the current way they are laid out is rather messy, in my opinion, given that they are or varied size and thus align neither with each other or with threads that don't have them.
Therefore, I think it would be better to introduce a new column for these tags, which can be left blank in the absence of one, and would mean that all the thread titles would stay aligned.

If I can bring a last-minute suggestion: I think it might look a little better with line breaks between each column.
If I had better editing skills, I might come up with an example. I may make something.

Redemption
I have a working model that looks ok on most situations. I will be releasing it as 1.5.2 soon.

This is a little close Memento Mori, from the first page;
I personally don't mind how it looks like that, but the only issue is it causes a lot of extra vertical space, since it's rare for threads to have a caption in most places.
But now if we made the tags text like in your post...that may work. (With of course, the option to setup tags like they currently are, as this setup is invaluable for some places, like RFS/Buy&Sell/whatever)

Memento Mori
If anyone wants to knock it up in a preview, would the following work?
This Is The Thread Title Pages: 1 | 2 Tags: None, Suggestion
Or would it make each thread a bit unsightly vertically?
Maybe a way could be found to put replace the icon for new posts, etc (as has I think been suggested already) with one allowing the categorisation of threads.
I think there are problems no matter where we position it. When I look at the entire page with the prefix tag underneath the title I find it really hard to read thread titles at all. It might be best to make it an option but that adds more complexity to the feature, but I think readability is reduced by the presence of the prefix tag, not just by its position.
Indeed. Having applied them to the front page of TV shows they push the title text over and confuse the eyes. They'd do the same thing right below the title or in a different column. The sorting factor is invaluable though - I kind of wish they could show up in the thread, and a cloud at the top of a forum, but not on the side of every thread in forum view themselves.
I think the only way the indenting would work is if they were placed where the "New post" folder is currently at. Expand that column width-wise, and use something else about the space to note which threads have new posts.
1: Newfangled 2: Oldfangled 3: Actually has a point now.
edit: I think it should still be an option (on the mod's part) to show thread tags in their current position, as there are benefits and reasons to use that spot. But for general use (aka default), it makes things look uneven (which we've all agreed on I think).
I've created a few repositions to see how it looks in real life:

Wait a minute; this is a thing now? Then, can we please look back a few months when I suggested forum specific tags I still think they would work if we customized different tags for different forums.
That's something moderators are able to do already.
