*Obligatory* Here comes the fan fiction! what the shizz diddles!
At this point there is little doubt that the majority of the fanbase is upset and as such i bet a lot of them came up with their own conclusion to the story. Post all of your endings here as you imagined them.
Excuse my poor english as it's my second language.
Renegade(My main path.):
After getting hit with harbingers laser, shepard hardly gets up on his feet and attempts to reach the catalyst. However Harbinger lands and tries to kill shepard, that is when the Normandy comes in and attacks harbinger with all of it's power. It gets damaged severely and crashes nearby while you hear Joker asking for help before the sound of an explosion cuts off the transmission. Harbinger comes closer to shepard telling him that the cycle will continue and that he has failed his mission. Shepard says "Go to Hell." before passing out. A scene is shown where earth is in flames , the forces you have gathered jumped and escaped the battle to their home worlds in a desperate attempt to survive with the majority of them dead.
The Reapers are shown advancing towards the other galaxies. A scene is shown where shepard is inside a reaper,he wakes up and looks to his left and sees the illusive man in a glass, he whispers "I failed" before being sucked into the machine. the scene ends with shepard's hands clawing at the glass trying to escape and screaming in pain. Screen fades to black and credits Roll. After credits a scene showing a Cerberus base underground on an unknown planet. Several pods are seen lined up with Cerberus best staff in hibernation. The camera passes by them and goes to sound of electric zaps, the human reaper is seen with it's design completely changed. It's now acts as a energy source in creation of clones of the Cerberus staff in the pods. The real illusive man walks into view and smokes a cig while smiling. 50k years later a scene is shown with the yahg landing on a planet and finding Liara's data. The End.
Considering that the illusive man brought shepard back from the dead, cloning humans is definitely possible. Hell, it would give him the ability to create the perfect human race. The illusive man who was on the reaper was actually a clone that perfectly tricked the reapers. For a man that can bring back people from the dead i always imagined that he would have a back up plan if the reapers screwed him over.
It's not perfect but it's how i imagined how the renegade path would end, i might do the Paragon one if people care but otherwise meh. Before the knights of the fanbase arrive i realize that this doesn't mean much nor it can ever suffice as an ending. This is just to pass time and so i can see what people imagined their endings to be like.
Share your endings here.

Don't forget about Blasto's new elcor sidekick though!
Badassly: It's time to *puts on hologlasses* take out the trash. In long excitement: Yeah.
Quick! Purchase the Elcor attachment today! Only $10! PS3 users can still suck it!
EDIT: After searching for EA headquarters located somewhere in Southern Arabia I found something shocking. The EA headquarters is a living REAPER. After a very philosophical discussion with it, it told me why it is doing the things it does. It's not pretty, shield your eyes from the truth and live in ignorance if you must, I wish I did.
This is beyond epic!

I personally didn't want the Reapers destroyed / defeated. It would (does) seem as an unrealistic expectation on the side of organics to accomplish such a feat as throughout the whole game Reapers' supremacy and dominance is clearly established. Futility of such an effort can best be seen during the Sovereign's attack when the whole of Alliance flotilla was needed just to scramble home. Moreover, there are multiple references saying Reapers cannot be beaten via conventional way. Here comes the Crucible. From the start I did not believe it would be some kind of weapon. Just didn't seem it would be enough. Well I got that part right, sure wasn't expecting what it turned out to be (do) instead, though.
So here's what I think should have been done with the Crucible theme. Say many, many cycles ago there was a civilization which figured out how to master the mass relay technology. They built some and sent them to neighbouring galaxies. They also constructed the Crucible as a mean of altering Citadel's mass relay / linking it with these galaxy exploring mass relays they launched. Then the Reapers came to harvest their cycle's civilization and that was the end of that. However, their scientists realized that if altered, the Crucible can be used by the next cycles' civilizations for sending Reapers' troops through Citadel's mass relay into the deep dark space (or wherever the mass relays they launched would be at the time). So they made sure their legacy, blueprints of modified Crucible which would only allow for one-way trip would be recovered.
That way, there would be no explanation needed on Reapers' origin and/or motives. There would be no need to introduce Starchild and to diminish Reapers' significance by turning them into Starchild's solution when at the same time Sovereign/Harbinger appeared to me to be vastly more intelligent anyway. Reapers would remain the ultimate villains and a threat to be reckoned with millenia (perhaps million years) later. Hopefully that'd be enough time for organics to develop in a way that would allow them to challenge Reapers once they return.
Just my idea though

I wanted the game to end by having Shepard come and kick all the Reapers A$$s in a good ol fashion knock out fight.

I personally don't like the ending but I don't hate it either and I have read plenty of fanfic like indoc theory and so on and I am inclined to agree with some points they make. From the very start of the game it seemed odd some other forces were at work. People supporting the indoc mention this child Shepard encounters at the beginning of the game in the air vent why does no-one else not notice him. When they are boarding the shuttle after Shepard gets on the Normandy indoc supporters will claim no one pays any heed to the child trying to help him on board. What I found more odd was when the reaper does show up and shoots down the shuttle it looks straight at the Normandy why not just blow it away there and then.
Now you could say the Normandy has stealth systems but don't forget the Reapers are sentient beings so they can see they are not run by organics like a conventional ships so they have no need to rely on radar or sonar or whatever. There are a few what the he'll moments in the game like on Rannoch, Shep takes down a reaper single handed with a target laser for an orbital bombardment yeah right! That reaper could have wiped him out but instead it gets "killed" of its own desire I feel, then hands down a you will not win message to Shep.
There are too many unusual moments in the game that I believe can't be bad writing this indoc could all be bull but I feel there is something more I felt that way from the first time I played. One more point Harbinger hitting Shep with his reaper ray, as bad asses as Shep is he WOULD not be alive after those rays can obliterate dreadnoughts tiny little Shep was dead there and anything that took place after that was cod shit excuse my French.

The game is great, multiplayer is cool, but the ending...geez.
Dragon Age 2 is just a bad game, the ending doesn't suck the whole game does. They even scrapped the expansino pack they were doing and going straight to DA3 and try to save the series.
there are only 2 people that i know of that liked the ending, me and one of my friends
i dont understand why the whole world is bitching about the ending
People are "bitching" because Bioware has too much artistic integrity and our feeble minds cannot comprehend what was obviously an extremely artistic ending.
I acknowledge that I'm not artistic enough to understand the ending, but you clearly are! Yay for artists!
If you can stand to read, here is a document that explains why the ending is just poor writing filled with gaping plotholes big enough for the normandy to park in.

I really loved ME3 until the ending. They were definitely rushed by EA. The game already got delayed once, and some soundfiles have proven that parts of the game got cut out.
But to say ME3 is like DA2...that's just not being fair.

What probably happened in the developers office:
Bioware: "We can make loads of great endings, we just need a little more ti..."
EA: "assuming direct control" *not my joke
Seriously though I dont think they need 16 different endings, 3 will do, a bad, middle and a good one, but being different is the key

Supporting Aulis Vaara here on my end I remember that the lead ircetor person called Casey said something along the lines of "You will not have an A, B, or C ending"
Well I'm sad to report that as of ten minutes ago I finished the game. And it was exactly an A, B, and C ending I was given.
So, now I prepare to write my own ending. Ready comrade Aulis?
