I was stuck on this boss for a whole day (I tried, like, 6 times).

Anyways, I used a Storm Rod with no power-ups at all. I did equip a few defensive items such as a Silver Ring, etc., which decreased the damage I took a little.

I brought three animals with me, the lowest was level 5 and died almost immediately. The highest was level 15 and lasted the longest. I also brought about 6 Recovery Potion L's and 4 Stew's, using the Recovery Potions a lot when he got pissed off (when he turned red).

His attacks were pretty easy for me to dodge (hopefully they are for you, too?).
- For the bubble attack, since it is extremely slow, I just circle him and attack him at his openings - it's a good idea to attack him while he's blowing his slow bubbles, but call your animals away from the bubbles.
-For the rockets that follow you, it's extremely easy to tell when he shoots them at you, because he raises his claws and then you can see the rockets shoot out if you were a little distance away from him. When I heard the rockets, at a specific time, I double jumped over them, causing them to miss and hit the ground.
-For the machine gun, which is very easy to dodge if you aren't in the way, I typically dodged these by just staying away from him when he did these attacks. Like the bubbles, it's easy to attack him while he is using his machine gun.
-When he is using both arms to attack, I typically double jump so I am closer to his head, and then hit. This was probably the hardest for me to dodge, actually.

When he's pissed off (which was when I always lost, mostly), I either switch to my katana or stick with my storm rod. You have to get closer to him to actually do damage with a storm rod (unfortunately, I noticed this a little while before being KOed). If you get hit once by his machine gun / seeking rockets / machine guns, then he will most likely attack you with a barrage of all of his weapons (he even says something among the lines of Attack with all weapons in his robot - ish voice). That was the problem I had most when battling him.

Be wary that pirates attack you after the battle, and you HAVE to beat them, with your animals revived and with the same HP and RP you left the boss battle with.

I was approximately level 20 when I beat the guy.
