My friend and I were talking about possible pokemon games today and this idea just popped in my mind. xD

If Black 2 and White 2 are simply the "upgraded" versions of Black and White, kinda like Platinum and Emerald were, then obviously nothing I say here will matter, but if they ARE sequels to Black and White with a "whole new adventure" or whatever, what if they would make a "Gray/Grey" game after B2/W2 combining the stories of Black and Black 2 or White and White 2 in one game?
Either that OR, that's exactly what B2/W2 are.

Exactly. The B/W saga has to feature B/W characters and the Unova region. Taking one of these elements out destroys the plot.

That's how I think it will go and then from here it'll possibly go like this:

Black2/White2/Grey2
MagmaRuby/AquaSapphire
Ruby2/Sapphire2/Emerald2
Gold2/Silver2/Crystal2
Red2/Blue2/Yellow2

it gives them a reason to carry on the series, I think they've realised they've added too many regions and too many pokemon so they've moved onto sequels instead so they can atleast carry on the series, so the number 2, just means it's the same region but with a different story and some extras but it is not a third verson to an existing pair.
[size=1]Gamefreak didn't add a whole new Gen because it's not how it works. Last 2 Gens it worked like this: The first games: R/S and D/P. B/W are the first games of their Gen too. The 3rd versions: Emerald and Platinum. The remakes: FR/LG and HG/SS. They only maded sequels because they couldn't fit the whole content in 1 game and also wanted to make a twist. We probably wont be seeing sequels of older versions because there's no need. The only game in the series that needed a sequel to clear things up was B/

Despite the fact that it's sooo wanted (R/S/E were my favourites, alongside HG/SS) I doubt it. There's supposed to be the tradition that the remake is always two generations on from the original. The reason why we jumped to doing sequels instead of burning us out with yet another region was because the leap from GBA to DS would be too small. And putting it on the 3DS would change the generation completely. Work on B/W1 actually started when Platinum was out and HG/SS was about to hit the stores. When it finally came out, the 3DS was still being worked on. So, basically, that's why it went to the DS.

Back to the topic. sampunas123, if B/W3 were in a different region then they'd be different games altogether. The games were each assigned their own regions. For example, Kanto went to R/B/Y, G/S/C, FR/LG and HG/SS, but the biggest prominence was in R/B/Y and FR/LG. Same as with Johto. So if it went to Hoenn, then they'd become something like Pokemon MagmaRuby and AquaSapphire Versions. In other words, it'll turn into a R/S/E remake, with apparently no trace of the real B/W plot.

That's an interesting story Kanon. The problem is nobody wants to go through Unova for the 3rd time. As I said in the 3rd game the action could be happening in Hoenn where characters from B/W / BW2 appear. It sounds pretty good, but that would eliminate the remakes of R/S which I really want too. Ofcourse they could make it post-E4 content, but that would be cheap because they couldn't make a decent story or anything, but if it's like what you say that they were once all three together then Grey is destined to happen.

Me I think there will be a Grey, and it will be a sequel once more, making a trilogy of BW1, BW2, and Grey, perhaps called 'Pokémon Black and White 3'.
No matter the name though, I think it will be one game, and the cover mascot and focus of the plot will be the Original Dragon, a new form for Kyurem.

Why?

'The game' you refer to is Black and White 1, you know, in the game where it was just 'there' and not focus.
Unlike, you know, BW2 where it's in the plot and supposedly stated to be a third part of the original dragon. It's Pokédex entry I know for sure mentions both Truth and Ideals.

And you know what I hate, people who are all like 'Hurr durr can't be original dragon Kyurem came from space durr hurr'.
To those people: Find me an exact quote that explicitly states "The Original Dragon did not come from space"

They even tell stories of how meteor fell in Giant Chasm. He's like Deoxys who's able to change it's shapes. Deoxys absorbs the power of meteorites to change while Kyurem can absorb other pokemon.
