I think I may have found a bit of a plothole.
Ryuken and Masaki were the last two pure quincies, hence the focus on them marrying to make sure there were more. After the hollow incident Ryuken supposedly married the half quincy maid girl.
Juha was said to have steal power from anyone who was not a pure quincy, which led to the death of maid girl and Masaki.
Now if Ryuken really did marry maid girl and Ishida is their son, then that means Ishida isn't a pure quincy since his mother would have only been a half-quincy, so he should have actually died back when Juha was stealing power.
Ishida should not be alive at all.

I worded that weird sorry. What I meant was, bankais were proven useless, I think everyone who used theirs except Ichigo and Renji got it stolen, so why is scarface guy trying to train his bankai, wouldn't it be better use of one's time to train shikai and the basics instead.
