I thought everyone might enjoy a return to a small character and this is one that I think most people forget about altogether.

Pierre is a talking but not walking scarecrow. Despite introducing himself as the "wandering scarecrow", when we first meet him he is very much stuck on his plot of land next to Lake Hylia. His only company is Bonooru, a fellow scarecrow.

As a child, Link can play any several notes to Bonooru who will remember them. Returning seven years on, Link will find it functions as the "Scarecrow's Song" on his Ocarina. Somehow, whether it be by his own devices or the power of the Ocarina of Time, he has gained the ability to leave his spot at Lake Hylia. In response to the song he will pop up in key locations that cannot be reached without his help. Then, by use of Hookshot/Longshot, Link can reach said areas.

Pierre can also remember any tune, of which several different versions will play following the end credits of the title.

So what do we think of Pierre? Did you forget about him? How do you think he is able to move around? Did you enjoy his inclusion? Was his ability useful for you? Did you know about the credits tune? Could they have done more with him?

Don't worry... yet. (about the Scarecrow's Song being in the song list) I will send a request to Nintendo telling them to add a slot for it. If they won't do it, I'll post saying they won't. Yay!

Yeah I just did my own string of notes. I can see the appeal in using an existing song from another game though.

Kind of feel sorry for Bonooru since he doesn't go anywhere.

But its not as fun as making your own compilation of notes :<

Haha, well like I said earlier, I used one of the songs from Majora's Mask called Sonata of Awakening and added an extra note to it for easy memorization.

Exactly.
Darn you Nintendo for making us use our brains terrible memory instead!

Good thought. Something that you have to make up yourself deserves to be saved somewhere in the menu for further memorizing.

Or heres a though, would it have killed Nintendo to put it in the songbook?

It would of been easier to remember if it didn't require to be an 8-note song. In that case, I would of just used 1 note.

I totally forgot his name -_______-
But up until now, I can't say I ever utilized him since I could never remember what notes I hit for him to remember. Hell, even now I had to write them down to make sure I don't forget.

So the Ocarina of Time also has the power to force scarecrows to be summoned out of the ground. Weird.

Dark Arcanine, I am going to be the new ruler of Darkloft! You go rule Lightloft.
