Linky

It's a thing IGN does wherein the reviewer, while in the process of reviewing the game, posts a few impressions at different stages of the game, ending with the final review. Spoiler free, except for how the game starts, ie, the demo stage.

Spectre I'm getting it on the 6th, but I'm sure I won't be able to play it until the 9th...

Spectre

Spectre I mean (and I am not sure how much of this is just rumor) that in addition to using that data (of who survived in most ME2 playthroughs) to choose the permanent squad, Bioware also took that data in consideration when creating missions with the ME2 characters that do not show up in your squad permanently.
Oh, I get you now.

Well, it would make sense that the more popular squad members are involved in better missions. Fan service and all that. I mean, I'd prefer to see Legion or Thane in a mission than, say, Jacob.

I'll wait until I have the game (9th ) before I make any judgment though.

Spectre Yes, but I also heard that affected the non-permanent squad members. Like, for a character that survived in most people's playthroughs, they would have better side missions (I believe).
I'm not sure I follow? Sorry, it's been a tiring day.

Memento Mori

The second part of the demo is going to be interesting (read rubbish) if most of the participants of that section are dead.

Darknet

Well we get a whole mission with Mordin and he was the one I heard everyone had a hard time keeping alive.

Darknet Spectre I remember reading something a while back where they said that they collected data to see which squad members survived in most people's playthroughs. A tiny bit dissapointed that it won't be 100% tailored to your game save, but whatever, I only lost a single squadmate on my first playthrough, and none on my second.
Wait does that mean that they are going to kill a character even though I saved them?
No. It just means that some of your ME3 squad were chosen because they:
  • were the most likely to have survived ME2
  • were fan favourites
  • made sense in terms of story
If someone died in your game, they are dead. If they didn't, they are alive.

Oh, I already know the "main" squad. One of them shan't be joining me... (Be quiet BrokenKnights).

The other guys will still show up, probably as mission-specific squad members.
