Macs are generally more user-friendly, but are about 2.5x more expensive than the likes of Dell/HP (for similar specs)

if you want user-friendliness (and money not so important) then go for Macs
if you want Windows and money IS important, then go for a laptop

notebooks are preferred over netbooks

netbooks are just for your basic browsing (internet, using word/excel/office)
notebooks, you can get a bit better "bang for your buck" and spec it up (for maybe some light gaming)

depends on the use really

My kid starts college in the fall and I need to start saving up to get her a laptop.my question is mac or pc?
I have been out of the loop a while now and have no idea as to what to get anymore.
