This is why browsing Youtube for your upcoming favorite games can be a blessing. :3 Basically, it's some demo (I guess) footage of the different styles and variations of attacks each of the classes can use in 3 parts. I'm pretty sure these aren't the only classes, and I doubt you are pigeon holed to a certain class. I also doubt this is all the attacks in the game for the class, but just a little taste~ d: Regardless of the information unknown at this point in time, here's something to feast your eyes on and maybe help decide what you want to play as until the release. Enjoy!
Note: The monsters in these videos are buffed so they cannot die.
Basic Classes:
Spoiler:Fighter
Spoiler:Mage
Spoiler:Strider
quote
Dragon’s Dogma has three basic classes fighter, mage, and strider. Players can combine these to create advanced jobs which share characteristics from two base jobs.
Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer are also Advanced classes of the obvious basic counterparts, however, they don't require you to branch out into another basic class.

My warrior pawn was pretty retarded, but when I was a warrior everything (Except bosses. I hate Warrior v Bosses.) went perfectly smooth, due to AI not knowing how to dodge, move, attack, use openings as well as players do.
That being said, I like having 2 warriors as meat shields while I'm a Magick Archer.

the warrior drops speed for major power. It is the cyclops of the vocations. But don't disregard it totally. I was standing behind a warrior bandit and he still hit me even when his back was to me. It also increases your strength making it useful when it comes to leveling up.

I figured this would be ok to ask in this thread, seemed relevant and not important enough to make a new thread for.
My main Pawn is a Warrior/Fighter... Honestly she was always meant to be a Warrior but once she was, she got half-useless. They seem so slow that the only enemies she gets to hit are slow-moving or huge ones. I flipped her back to Fighter to learn an Augment and now she's kicking butt and we're mowing through trash packs of wolves/bandits/whatever twice as fast. She also pops the lids off of helmed Cyclopses like they're soda bottles. So I guess my question is: is there any reason to make her into a Warrior EVER again (since she knows all the Augments already)? Is there anything they excel enough at to bother with it? I know they do hella damage per hit, but that seems useless if the hit never actually connects with anything.

Another thing worth mentioning is that your stats increase per level depending on your active Vocation at the time of your level increasing.
The best Vocation to raise:
HP: Warrior
Stamina: Ranger
Attack: Assassin
Defense: Fighter
Magick Attack and Defense: Sorcerer

ok. You have the three basic classes: Fighter (shield and sword user), Mage (staff user), and Strider (dagger and bow user). The Strider and Fighter classes are opposites. Strider is based on speed instead of power and the Fighter is based on pure damage but is slow.
Your advanced classes are: Sorcerer, Warrior (drops the use of a shield for two handed weapons like claymores and battle axes), and Ranger (who drops shortbows for long bows). They follow the same basic rules but their level up stats drop defense upgrades for offense star upgrades.
Your combined classes: Assassin- fighter/Strider (bows, swords, shields, and daggers so plethora of equipment and skills which utilize fire and poison as well as tactical fighting like laying bombs) Mystick Knight- Mage/Fighter (haven't used this one yet but he utilizes swords and a magick shield. Only one who can enchant whole party weapons at the same time and shield can cause backfire damage to attacking opponent), and Magick Archer- Mage/Strider (a tactical advantage unit. Drops normal bows for a magick bow. This unit has access to all forms of elemental damage. Can even kill a horde of undead with a single bolt of light. So if your looking for elemental damage I recommend this one.)
Those are your classes. I've access to all of the skills for Magick Archer, Assassin, Warrior, Ranger, and Fighter if you'd like them and their descriptions just ask. ^^

I hope there's a decently sized skill set though. Like, right now there's RB/LB 3 skills each, so that's 6 skills total. And since I KNOW (Official Dragon's Dogma Youtube) that Strider's get a skill called Ensnare, which you aren't able to use in the demo, and here's the video:
that's at the very least 7 different skills you get to swap around for each different style of play. I have no clue how many skills you will end up with, but I don't think it's going to be a let down either way. And if it is, well, like Aeirou said, you can change your vocation to keep things fresh I guess, lol.
And, idk if I have posted this before, but it's the ENTIRE reason I'm even thinking about playing as a Mystic Knight because this skills just looks awesome imo.

I'm not going to assume a vast skill set, but you are allowed to switch you vocation in the game.. so if you get bored, you can always try something new. I intend to level as a ranger and level my main pawn as a warrior and then switch places with him. The least complicated way to try new things because the armor is all set up already.

I love te combination of classes, playing as two combinations really excites me. I was trying to play this game off to save my wallet but this stuff looks so awesome. :<
Hopefully the skill trees aren't to short though. I want to be able to really create my own unique character with a deep amount of abilities.

Oddly enough, I usually use a ranged fighter, be it bow/arrow or magic. However, this time I'm less inclined for Mage because I'm a sucker for insta cast, and the cast times just seem annoying, at least from my perspective at the moment. I'm sure once I play, get to know the game, how to do certain things, it will be better. Because even non magic skills have a pretty long cast time. Anyways, more importantly, I'm interested in playing a Mystic Knight now which would be the first time ever in my life I've played a melee class first. :3
So, Capcom is doing something right by me if they are making a melee I want to actually play.
