As you know from any job, you don't get to pick what you work on as an employee. However, for discussions sake, what would be your master piece. What I mean to say is that, if you were to create a game from beginning to end, what genre of game do you think you would be remembered for?
You guys on neoseeker haven't had the "pleasure" of hearing any of my more twisted thoughts. (I'm not a criminal of any kind, more like steven king in his prime.) I definitely be most remembered for games with atmosphere and heavy immersion. Horror games that maintain a restless and creepy vibe without the heavy use of jump scares and babies as enemies. Games like silent hill and resident evil would have nothing on the kind of survival horror I could come up with. I would also develop these horror games into a sort of free roam vibe so it isn't so linear. For example, setting up a scenario where the player has multiple objectives and based on which area is chosen first, one event of the game may change dramatically.
For example, I might give the player a choice of securing a vehicle to leave an area that is about to be swarmed or finding a way to stay out of sight. Now hiding, they may find out about something they wouldn't know otherwise but at a cost. If they choose the vehicle, then the enemies would know where they are and give chase that would leave them outnumbered and at a point of tension. I dunno, I'm just spur of the moment thinking.
What genre do you think you would be known for an why?

I think it would be cool to make a game where your choices REALLY matter. Where the endings are so vastly different that the experience really is like you got 2-3 games for the price of one. The thing is, devs want to make sequels.. but why not Final Fantasy it? Make the first installment's outcome based solely on your decisions and then if it takes, which it will if it's done to budget and done right, then the sequel could be like final fantasy where you get a new story and characters. As always, the service to the fans in later installments would be cameos, easter eggs, and references. The game would need a longer development cycle then most games get, but it would be a defining series. A game in which point A really twists before it reaches point B.
I thought we had creative people in Gen PS3!? You know why you don't like games but not how to make better ones?
I like the idea of augmentations because it's like a super hero of science.. how would you separate your game idea from Deus Ex which is heavily business and science oriented?
I'm not going to say too much because I might actually use this idea in the future - well, if gaming lasts that long anyway haha
It'll be a bit more like The Elder Scrolls or Borderlands, in that you have to explore far and wide in a huge world (but not too huge, or else we may end up with a glitch ridden mess) instead of just in a set of open-ish areas.
The moral decisions - well, really, all decisions would impact the story significantly, instead of just giving you (more) XP, changing just a cutscene or slightly impacting a mission.
The augmentations would make you something between Adam/JC and Alex Mercer. They'd also let you fight enemies without the need to sneak around, although that'd depend on your build. Actually, speaking of which, bulkier builds (ones that increase defense) would make it impossible to sneak due to your heaviness, which'd slam onto the ground unless you sneak reeeeaaaallll sllloooooowwwwwwlllllyyyy.
Oh, and the bosses won't suck. :3
Sorry for the late response.

No idea what the story or even gameplay would be like, but i've always wanted a game with a completely innovative control scheme. One that would take a lot of time to get used to (and so won't be a casual pick up and play game), but would allow a huge diversity of actions to be achieved.
So basically R1 controls the characters right hand/arm, L1 left arm, R2 right leg, L2 left leg. Holding one (or more, they can be used in combinations) of these as well as using the right stick for right side and left stick for left side will allow even more control over what you do. So for example, if you're in a fist fight, tapping L1 would do a simple left jab, but holding it while moving the left stick clockwise a bit will do a hook, straight up would do an uppercut. And then you could hold both L1 and R1 to grapple your opponent, tap R2 to knee them in the groin, or push both sticks upwards to throw them forwards, etc etc. That's just a small fraction of what could be possible.

Tales Of Destiny.
Just kidding - a JRPG wouldn't be my magnum opus; rather, a WRPG would be. A WRPG shooter hybrid, to be exact, and you can switch between first person and third person views. You're an android that roams the world in search of various sorts of treasure, like augments to make you better (or more versatile), weapons to fight with (melee or ranged) and other such things you'd expect to find in these games.
It starts with you as the one creating the android, picking from ten sets of parts and augments (which are the classes). Then you get to control the android and make desicions that'll heavily influence the game - do you keep the scientists alive or kill them all? Keeping them alive will ensure that you'll have easier access to upgrades that you wouldn't be able to get during that period, but there will be a twist later in the game that'll make you regret that. Killing them would prevent this twist, but you'll have to search far and wide for upgrades. That's just one example, and I think I could write that a hell of a lot better, but this is the kind of game that'll have moments where any decision you make can impact the story drastically - whether that's without you knowing or not is up to me. :3
tl;dr - think Deus Ex with the exploration of the Elder Scrolls series and the storytelling of The Witcher.
