3DS recently hit 5 million in Japan. The going assumption is the quickly announced Nintendo Direct is a result of this.

I personally hope for DQVIII level graphics with the camera that DQ9 used for battles, but with a "skip" option that just does the classic "slice slice bam dead"

As well as the fact that IV, V, and VI were all remade for DS.

Either way this is going to be freakin' awesome.

- Just got Rocket Slime 3
- We have Dragon Quest Monsters remake next year as well that could be the related spin-off instead
