Um, I'm not entirely sure where to put this desire for help since it relates to the PS2 system but PS1 games. If I've put it in the wrong spot, could a mod please move it for me?

Anyways, here's my problem. I have my Playstation 2 hooked up to a Ilo HDTV and it runs PS2 games fine. However, when I put a PS1 game into the system, it will run the Playstation logo screen and the copyright screens, but then either have no picture after that, or a darkly-colored line (usually red or green) going diagonally across the screen. The sound will play, but the video isn't working.

I've checked my connections and they are all good. I have also tried it with the S-Cable out of the it's spot (I currently have it in) and that doesn't help. So far as I can tell, I can't actually adjust the video mode (4:3/16:9) on any setting save for the setting the cable box is running through (the on-tv options are: normal; full; zoom 1; zoom 2). The Playstation 2 is set to run in 4:3 mode using the Y-cable option.

I'm not sure if I have overlooked something or if there is something amiss that's preventing me from playing on this particular tv. I would switch it to a different tv, but there really aren't any others available in the house that I can sit and play on in comfort.
