In case anyone doesn't know, DICE (or a Dev) have confirmed via twitter that Battlefield 3 will require an online pass.
This raises a question regarding my own situation. Myself and and my brother will have purchased one copy of the game. We both use the same PS3 but on different PSNs. Will this online pass be applicable to only one PSN on one system? And if so, will there at least be another online pass to be purchased online at release date?
Oh, and *bleep*ing hell EA.

I hope other developers dont follow with this idea, it would start to kill trading-in and buying used games D:
That was why it was brought in - under the pretence of stopping "game piracy" from the minority of CD Cloners around, it was intended to stop the loss of profit from not people having to buy new to play the majority of the game.
No matter how good the single player game is, on games like Battlefield designed around their online players, stunts like this are beyond a joke.
*But don't worry, if your game is installed on the Hard Drive, don't fret; you can still use the same Online Pass* I wouldn't be fretting if only you hadn't included it in the first place. It's like saying "Don't worry if I chew your fingers off, as I can always stitch them back on for you".

The fact that it's been done before doesn't exclude it from criticism.
I think it's a bit lame, personally, but I suppose I can understand their reasoning. They just want to get more money.... Well, when I put it that way, it sounds terribly greedy, but I really don't think it is.
It still sucks for people who regularly buy/rent used games. I feel for the many that do.

EA has always had the online pass thing.
It's nothing new.

well on BC2 I was able to use the VIP content, whilst my brother playing on the same console on his account could not, so I don't know. But in FIFA, another EA game, the online pass covers, I think, don't quote me on this, the first 5 accounts that play the game on that console...
