New fighter type: Wonder (Recall previously only three types: Power, Speed, and Technique)
New characters, like Kaguya (see below)
New Characters
Kaguya Another legend character (like Nu Wa or Taigong Wang). She's the moon princess from a popular Japanese folklore Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. She was discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant and is said to be from the Capital of the Moon. In some versions of this tale, it is said that she was sent to the Earth as a temporary punishment for some crime, while others say it is because she was sent for safety during a celestial war.
In the story, she tests 5 prince suitors with rare item fetch quests (they all fail) and leaves the Emperor of Japan an elixir of immortality when she returns to the Moon. Perhaps some aspects will tie into Musou Orochi 2's plot?

Perfect. That's what I assumed. Thanks!

You know how over time you get plus damage for your compatibility? So a 4 Weapon with max compatibility could get +14 (not accurate, but ballpark figure), and with a base of 42 that gives it 56 attack.
Well BS Weapons get +56 (again, not accurate but ballpark, look it up), so a max of 64-67. But they take a long-ass time to level up, so it depends entirely on how much time you intend to spend on a specific character.

So should I be using level 4 weapons or the Big Star weapons? For example, Zhang Fei's level 4 weapon has a base attack of 42 and his big star weapon only has a base attack of 11. Not sure why I would use the latter over the former.

Yeah, for Ginchiyo, I just played Odawara Castle over and over. Both SSX and Da Qiao give 80 bond for a mission. I'm close to getting the Jia Xu-Cross Bow dude one. Zhang Liao is the recommended for that level, so I assume Gan Ning is there.
But yeah, for the rest, I might wait for moon viewing. Thanks for the tip.
Also, I used Achilles for a couple battles. He seemed, really, really slow.
He is; he needs agility, and his EX attack available, before he can truly unleash Hades.
Word of advice, in Chapter 4 you unlock moon-viewing at the tea-house which allows you to focus on bonding two characters for a small price rather than paying a ridiculous amount to make everyone bond, or to be forced to repeat stages with characters you're not fond of. So unless if you really want to unlock someone quick (it's pretty easy to tell who's going to be where Gaiden wise, and I only bothered with Muneshige and Kojiro before moon-view spamming) it's so much less frustrating to just wait until CH4.
Speaking of which, I really hated how they treated Ginchiyo once Muneshige showed up. And I'll never stop talking about that. Especially since he's just diet-Ginchiyo gameplay-wise.
Toshiie's quite a beast as well. I never really had a chance to play him properly in SW2:XL, but in WO3 the mother*bleep*er's pretty hardcore.
SW crew-wise, I stuck to my classics; Ginchiyo, Kenshin, and Nobunaga, with Ranmaru and Kunoichi (horrible character, great moveset) being fall-backs before they were unlocked, and with Mitsuhide, Toshiie, and Kiyomasa sprinkled in for spice. I tried to use Katsuie and Ujiyasu as much as I could as well, to give 'em a fair shake, but they were just too bland.
Ryu was a great addition to the ninja cast, but he felt a little too flashy without substance to me; Hanzo still holds the throne. Him assassinating Hideyoshi in SW2 still makes me a little moist.

UPDATE: Just played the Cheng Du level and had a fan-gasm. Guan Yu vs. Zhang Fei with Fa Zheng in charge of the battle. Totally awesome!

I loved Sima Zhao in DW7. At least his story. His change from light-hearted moron, to slight less moronic, but a good leader was one of my favorite arcs. Second to Sun Quan.
But, yeah, those Gaiden stages are a bitch. I finally got the SSX/Ginchiyo/Da Qiao one. Picked up Ginchiyo's husband, which was cool. Not sure how good he is, but it seemed worth unlocking him.

Having not played SW3, it was great getting to try out all of the new people from that in WO3 and by far my favourite was Kiyomasa. Unlike the DW guys, I don't know much about the background of the SW people, so it's largely based on what I see in-game, but he was made out to be so interesting; definitely become a favourite from the SW crew overall. & very much agreed that his moveset is sort of 'unspectacular' but so very solid The pairing with Lu Meng was lovely, whilst Masanori & Gan Ning were off on their usual antics.
Masanori's moveset was pretty good but that VOICE... ohhh jeez, I couldn't stand him - no way was I using him any more than I had to Hideyoshi, Kenshin, Ginchiyo, Musashi & Nene typically remained 'my SW crew' now joined by Kiyomasa & of the 'Guest Characters', it was Ryu whose moveset appealed by far the most.
For the most part, I just ignored everyone and breezed through everything with Ma Dai, Deng Ai and Zhang Liao however
BrokenKnights if I recall correctly, Musashi becomes available in chapter 1... he's one of those people that die (in one of the SW castle stages) and you then go back in time to change something in order to save him. I think Gan Ning might show up in a gaiden stage in chapter 2, though that one unlocks through friendship bonds I believe so is a bit more time consuming...
& how you could stand keeping Sima Zhao in your squad after having played the DW7 Jin story is beyond me - I ditched him after the first battle for Kaguya Looks like you've dropped him now anyway.

I've just got into Chapter 3. The people I'm mainly using are Kiyomasa, Masanori (good to hear he ends up hanging out with Gan Ning), Ginchiyo, Hideyoshi, Keiji, Zhang Liao, Wei Yan, and Zhou Tai.
The people I'm eagerly waiting to get back are Musashi, Gan Ning (fingers crossed that he's good...), Zhang Fei, Xiahou Dun, and Kotaro. I'm sure there's other peopel that I'm forgetting, but those are the biggies. (Won't mind having Lu Bu around either...)
Also, I used Achilles for a couple battles. He seemed, really, really slow. With tons of time between his normal attack and even more between his charges.

I haven't really used Masanori; he seemed like he'd be a decent character (especially when he meets Gan Ning) but I look at the hair, and I just... I can't really see past it (and neither can anyone sitting behind him bah-dum tsh).
Kiyomasa is a beast, though. He's not exactly super special awesome, but he's as solid as you can ask for. Speaking of the new SW bunch I also found Gracia to be pretty great, and when you're weapon stacking (and thus would benefit from someone on your team having the Fortune skill) she's around five million times better than the alternatives (Xiao loli and Bao whatsherface).
