Where is a Doctor Who forum without one of these? There have been 11 Doctors (12 if you include Genesis of the Daleks) so it's impossible not to have had a favourite. Haha.
Personally I'm a forever-Troughton and Smith fan. I just think their Doctor's are the most like what I'd expect the Doctor to be like. Enigmatic and typically alien. Troughton was the first to show this, and brilliantly, but Smith just gives those little quirks that are impossible not to love.

I started with Tennant's series then watched Eccleston's and Smith's. I have yet to watch the classic series. So, I guess Tennant is my favorite.

I LOVE the enthusiasm that the newer doctors have like Matt Smith and David Tennant. I've met them both and it's not just an act. They're very fun doctors but serious when they need to be. But, and I quote Yourfavoritemartian 'Without Tom Baker this shit is just lame'
bean96, is that the one with the really long scarf?
I loved K9, too bad he doesn't count as a doctor xD.
My favorites would have to be, the first, second, third, fourth, 9th, 10th and 11th doctors xD

My favorite Doctor of the old series would have to be Tom Baker. Him and K-9 are what got me started on the DW. As for the newer series It would have to be David Tennent.

I just started watching about a month ago, and just finished season 2 today. I really do love David, he just seems like, well, the doctor. He has a great personality in the show and I really think it's hilarious he's engaged to Georgia Moffett because she's the real life daughter of the 5th doctor, but played Tennant's daughter in the episode, the Doctor's daughter, but I'm not sure if that's too creepy...

My favorite doctor is Matt Smith. Let me explain why. Ever since I was a child I liked the Dr Who series and I used to hide behind the sofa whenever the Daleks appeared. I think it must have been the voice. But over time the whole idea lost so much of its charm that it became a real pain to watch. Watching the new Doctor Who I was transported back to those days, in so much as I felt just as I did back then.

It's too hard to choose between Tennant and Smith :< I've seen a lot of the older Dr Who and I think Tom Baker was the best out of those by far! Not sure if the older episodes are too comparable to the series renewal given the changes in style and budget...
Anyway. Tennant is brilliant because...it's Tennant! He's amazing and sexy ^^ Smith, I just love the subtle nuances that he gives to the character. He's so quirky. Hope he sticks around for ages!

While i'm not that familiar with early regenerations, I would have to pick David Tennant. I thought he played the role perfectly, especially at the end of his regeneration, when he was afraid to regenerate.
Im not a big Matt Smith fan, but he's okay as the Doctor. Kinda looking forward to the next regeneration though, whoever that shall be.

It's a shame the only real action I've seen with the older Doctors has been with Time Crash, where Tennant got a quick visit from the 5th Doctor. I'll have to go back and watch those sooner or later.
