IIRC there was something in FSN that mentioned that after a while the grail would appear on its own anyway. It had already manifested to a degree while both Kiritsuga and Kirei were still alive (along with their servants) and simply choose Kiritsuga to be its bearer, who then rejected it.

As I figured, this was the wrap up episode. Still, it was worth it and now what is such an amazing series has now ended.

Gil finally had his ego boasting truly tested by the grail and just shrugs it off. Though quite why his armour had vanished is a mystery, since it's pretty obvious he still has it somewhere.

Noticed some discrepancy in relation to the Saber vs Gilgamish "battle" as depicted here and then in the original Fate/Stay Night anime though. Since in the original, they're pictured having a proper fight in the midst of the blazing inferno but in Zero Saber vanishes before the city is destroyed and before that Gil's clearly just toying with her. Can't remember right now how that is depicted in the FSN VN though so it could just have been the animation studio going off-track with it.

Also, Aoi was still alive. =0 Although clearly not in the best frame of mind. I suppose almost getting killed might do that to you.

Angry Manjew is the reason evil servants like Caster/Zero can be summoned. Before it was only benevolent Heroic Spirits. Also I thought Seiba actually won. The way I read it, Kiritsugu won (seeing as how Kirei died and all), but when he rejected Angry Manjew, Angry Manjew was all "*bleep* you I'ma revive this dude" and he granted Kirei's wish to burn shit to the ground. But only in part, because he didn't actually win or something stupid like that.
