Calendar updated for tonight through the end of the month. It tapers off a little at the end due to thanksgiving, but everything listed is new unless otherwise indicated.

So I'm looking at my weekly queue and I've dropped everything new except Homeland when it comes to stuff that I absolutely have to check in on. Really fascinating, well-acted drama. Still keeping the door open for newbies New Girl, Suburgatory and Grimm. House, Dexter and The Office are all showing their age and slid off my rotation not long after the premieres aired.

I put up a schedule for airing highlights the week of 10/16-10/22. Most shows are normal but it looks like NBC comedies and Fringe are taking a week off due to likely the World Series. Feedback on the new format appreciated.

Big Bang Theory, Community, Modern Family (will be keeping tabs on it, not an auto download), Archer (only one episode left, sigh), How I Met Yo Mamma, Boardwalk Empire, Dr. Who and Glee (might fall off the list if it keeps up being shit) and How to Make it in America methinks.

Will have to start watching It's Always Sunny in Philly from the start, only seen a couple of episodes. Might check out that Zoey Deschanel show.

It's been great having all these shows back. The comedies have not disappointed and the new ones I checked out (New Girl, 2 Broke Girls) look like they have the ratings at least to stick around.

The only drama I've watched so far is Homeland, a 24-esque spy type SHOtime drama that's been up for preview. I liked it enough to keep an eye out for the second episode. Tonight's got The Good Wife and Boardwalk Empire so mostly excited for that. Might get over to CBS this afternoon to check out Person of Interest, Prime Suspect, A Gifted Man and stuff.

So, how's week one(ish) going for everyone? All the comedy's seem really strong. Haven't got to Always Sunny yet, but all the talk about it is making me salivate to see the new eps.

Haven't seen any of the dramas yet. (I watched like 5 minutes of The Playboy Club because the word Playboy was in the title....). I really hope at least one of the new dramas had some strong characters and resultant shelf life.

I started watching Up All Night and sorta gave up. Silly is the right word for sure. I really hope Will Arnett gets his perfect leading role... just hasn't been the right show for him yet. For what it's worth I love Devin Banks on 30 Rock (also noticed I forgot to mention that show, which also means something).

Up All Night was kinda silly. Caught the Pilot and didn't care. Also, completely forgot about HIMYM, I guess that says more than words could.

CAN'T MISS
1. The Good Wife - the best cliffhanger of the most understated drama on tv
2. Parks and Recreation - if this show gets any better my head might explode
3. Community - really excited for everything cast&creators have hinted at.
4. Modern Family - really excited for the newest child actor
5. Happy Endings - what a charming show. hope the episodes air in an order that makes sense this time.
6. It's Always Sunny Philadelphia - great premiere, will continue to check in.
7. Archer - i'm behind on the last season and still love every minute of it.

CHECKING IN
1. The Office - if jim halpert is the new manager, i'm there.
2. House - i'm loyal to keeping tabs on house, but for the last two years i haven't felt the need to stay caught up on a week by week basis
3. How I Met Your Mother - pretty pissed at the lack of momentum. i'll generally watch if the episode gets good marks
4. Boardwalk Empire - a substantial step up in the premiere will improve this show's chances of hanging on
5. Sons of Anarchy - it's two eps in already but the way i watch it i might as well just wait for the finale
6. 30 Rock - sure, why not, it has its moments

CONSIDERING
1. Parenthood - not a new show, but i like the look of the cast
2. New Girl - decent pilot. may end up worth watching down the line
3. Terra Nova - expecting it to wow me about as much as falling skies did

DROPPED
1. Dexter - the suspense was ruined for me about the third time he just barely got away and continued being a brooding, melodramatic, all around shitty person.

What's everyone excited for? What's everyone watching? My list has gotten shorter over the years, but it's still a pretty hefty load:

OLDS:

1. House - don't care what anyone says, exited to see the new cast.
2. The Office - ditto the House remarks
3. Parks and Rec - Season 3 leveled the show up, here's to hoping it goes to another level with Season 4
4. Community - JOHN GOODMAN
5. The Mentalist - After last season's finale, I hope the show keeps growing in that bold sort of direction
6. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - haven't seen the premiere yet, but it looks like this season is going to kick ass
7. Modern Family - duh... if you're not watching this yet you're wrong

NEWS:
1. Awake on NBC - looks like it could be a heavy hitting drama. Have loved the previews and the concept.
2. Person of Interest - JJ Abrams, Jonathan Nolan, Ben, Caviezel, action, gadgets: sign me up!

DEAD:

1. Chuck - I hope Chuck gets canceled mid-run and doesn't get to make it to its finale
2. Boardwalk Empire - other than the pilot and a few moments here and there this came off as Scorsese imitation and sleazy pandering. Will pass this year despite how much I like the characters.

quote BrokenKnights
FOX and ABC are both looking kinda weak. They still have House and Modern Family, but I'm actually much more excited for the old and new stuff CBS and NBC are dishing out.

Golden miru warrior any idea when "Awake" premieres on NBC?
Pretty sure it won't be in the fall crop of shows and is slated for some unannounced time in the midseason.
