I am looking to catch a Sigilyph for my team but not a single one has appeared (apart from the trainer's one in the Relic Castle). I've been all over the Desert Resort, I have picked up all the items, battled all the trainers and visited the Relic Castle.
I have come across numerous Sandiles and Darumakas and a good number of Maractus' and Dwebbles (both the latter two have a 10% encounter rate - the same as Sigilyph). However, after over approx 50 encounters, I have not encountered a single wild Sigilyph.
Has anyone else had this happen?

idk if this will solve anyone's problem, but in the first desert resort area with the two non-trainers side by side and then a tunnel/door thing, there seem to be no sigilyphs. if you go through the tunnel however, into the second desert resort area where there are items and trainers, you CAN find sigilyph in the sand. again, dunno if anyone else was making this simple mistake, but if so hope this helps

There's actually a trick that you can get it.
1. Use the move "Sweet Scent". 2. Run away if it's not Sigilyph. 3. There should be a swirling dust to the northeast. 4. The Pokemon should be a Sigilyph-Boy-Level 20.
Hope this helped!

I couldn't find it until I realized you had to go into the desert resort area first and my first encounter with a wild pokemon was sigilyph and my second was maractus
a note to anyone who visits this thread, you can find Sigilyph in the area right before the Relic Castle!!!!!
thanks for the information i looked just in the patch outside the entrance and got one first time

Sigilyph can be found only in the Desert Resort, not inside Relic Castle. I saw one just after I first went to this desert, but I didn't caught it. It is somewhat rare and encountering it in the wild depends on our luck.

Well there was one thing I hadn't done yet - I hadn't chosen the Fossil. After almost 3 hours of non-Sigilyphness, I went in and selected the Fossil. After coming back out of Relic Castle I hit a Sigilyph on the very first wild encounter....!!!
Since then, I have encountered nine and caught four Modest ones, before finally getting the one I was after (Modest + Magic Guard). They seem to be coming at their normal encounter rate now and, indeed, are move prevalent than Maractus.
For players with similar problems, I'd recommend that you should make sure you've got the fossil. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW DO YOU GET ZE FOSSIL?

Try traversing the Desert Resort outside of the Relic Castle.
I find that they are much easier to encounter there.
