I was drifting through this blog and found a page outlining DLC. (the DLC link is also on the official site in the upper right) As seen in the information thread, there will be costume sets for free, but Koei is beginning to announce the priced items. (BTW most of this is through the power of Google Translation. Some names will be weird.)
Speculation 100 Yen for what looks like Yue Ying's DW5 pike/scythe.

I seeing this going either of two directions: 1) This weapon is purely aesthetic. Pike warriors now have a pike that looks like a scythe to swing. Or Yue Ying swings her staff as usual, but a superficial blade is at the end to complete the illusion. 2) This is possibly the 37th moveset. For this new weapon, a new class of fighting. Perhaps the restoration of Yue Ying from being a Zhou Yu bo staff clone?

I also would like to know to access the downloadable content on Dynasty Warriors 7. I don't know if you use your gaming system to look it up or do you get a new game or do you update the game disc you have somehow? Someone please tell me!

It is DLC crossover time. An upcoming costume pack can be purchased in two parts; base DW7 and the XL expansion.
The Musou Blog was first to break some teaser images of the "Fantasy Style" costume set:
That's all we have to go on at the moment. When they first said fantasy, I was thinking Lord of the Rings stuff. Wizards and elves and so on. But this is like a blend of modern style mixed with that pan-global influenced clothing Koei calls ancient Chinese.

Aww Yeah. Ma Chao is back. Hope he has his Silver Armour.
I've been trying to remember characters I wanted to put back into DW3 costumes. Forgot all about Gan Ning some how (him and his silly new move set). I really couldn't wait to get Cao Cao and XDun back in their DW3 grarb, but they both look way too bad ass in DW4.
Also Saikyo Mantis, do you know what transfers over to XL? Most importantly will all the DLC work on XL??
It is my understanding that all DW7 content is compatible with the expansion, DW7:XL. The "MixJoy" component might have you swapping discs, but all costumes and stages should apply to XL. (like have Guo Jia live to see Chi Bi for once or take shirtless DW3 Gan Ning to an XL stage)
Also, DW7 finally ships from Gamefly this week! I have so much to catch up on.
