Pokemon black expert

I would personally use Oshawatt because of balance stats. Team him up with Litwick for coverage.

calvin the best

I prefer oshawott because after you get all the gym badges you have to battle the elite four that has four types:ghost, dark, psychic and fighting.and oshawott final evolution is samurott:water and steel type.non of the elite four four types is strong against samurott.

It depends on what other Pokemon can be found. In pearl, for example there is only one other fire type Pokemon in the entire sinnoh region, but there are lots of good plant (roserade, for example) and water type Pokemon (like gyarados or whatever). In the end it depends on what you want with your team, although tepig does have the overall best stats at final evolution.

They are all rather Average. But the Snake and The Otter are you best choices. Tepig is okay but not the best of the three mainly because Gen 5 is really spped oriented. Even in game you will have some trouble with speed.
dude im srry but the snake and the otter are called snivy and oshawatt :/

Personally it doesnt matter what you pick. Because the first Gym is going to be your weak spot no matter what you pick. So if you pick Tepig youll be fighting water pokemon and if you pick Snivy youll be fighting Fire Pokemon and so on.

I personally like them all, but for my first run through i pick Snivy and then Oshawott then now I'm going with Tepig. Snivy is hard to get through with untill its 3rd evoultion. Oshawott has high HP but a bad movepool to the 2nd evoultion and lastly Tepig has a good movepool and fair HP. So he's my favourite.

But like said before, they are all good, it all depends on your personal opinion and your battle style.

There really is no TRUE answer to this question but: Its your game, play it the way you want to, and pick WHICHEVER starter YOU like.

KOrnSlayer

The first gym does not matter as you can recieve a free Panpour/Pansear/Pansage in Dreamyard.
Personally, I think Snivy is the worst due to his bad move sets. I think both of Oshawott and Tepig have their strong points, but I prefer Oshawott because of it's two weaknesses all the way through, but when Tepig evolves it is Fire and Fighting, which makes it weak to Water, Rock, Ground, Flying and Psychic

The first starters are equally as powerful as each other as these pokemon are meant to be strong as they are made for novice trainers who don't have much experience to help them get through the game however i personally think that the best starter is Tepig as Emboar (Tepigs final evolution) has the best statistics and has a good design however with its fire and fighting abilities in pokemon black 2 it does not have as good of an advantage over the gym trainers and leaders as they are all assigned to a certain pokemon type it doesn't have as good as of an advantage as the other starters but if you aren't to focused on the main game and more on wifi battling Emboar will lead you straight to victory!
