The new generation of pokemon bothers me. I had not caught mew in leafgreen, but I had a handbook i got at a store which had its definition as the ancestor of all pokemon. Then I got a newer handbook, saying that Arceus was the creator of the universe. Now there's a debate in my head wondering which was the first. I mean, they can't just change that! They have research that proves that mew can learn any move from any pokemon in any generation of pokemon games. Now arceus shows up and they think he is the ultimate pokemon? He can change types, but thats about it. it can only learn TM moves of the type of its held plate, come on! Please help me.

I who was born with Pokemon and followed the whole story from the beginning says Mew. In the 1990s they said Mew is the strongest pokemon ever existed and was Pokemon God. But later it started to become more and more Pokémon that destroyed the whole story I'd followed all the time. So I gave up, but the story of the first generation, I never forget. And now it has even been wars over who is the best. I hate these discussions about Arceus vs Mew or Mewtwo.

Im ba~ack! been a while since I posted here Im gonna try to reply to a few of you at once.
Cheeky boo Since when was mew considered a god? as far as mew being god I haven't seen anything game, anime, or movie that EVER implied mew to be god. Mew was stated as the ancestor of all Pokémon, the original First Pokémon, but never as a god.
Relatively In the Sinjoh Ruins event how does arceus make the legendary dragon EXACTLY? he makes an EGG right? now why, if arceus could make anything, would he make an egg, rather than a fully formed Pokémon? I believe it all has to do with arceus coming from an egg. If mew created arceus in the form of an egg, then that trait would be passed down to arceus, it and any other mew descendants would have to reproduce this way as well. Arceus makes the dragon as an egg because its the way IT was created. this also explains why all Pokémon regardless of being mammal, reptile, avian, or amphibian, lay eggs to create young.

XD Doctor Doom Basically what your saying is that arceus was the FIRST, the original one, the first pokemon that created the universe, what if arceus is called the first because he was THE FIRST POKEMON MEW CREATED. think about it, if arceus is the "original one" that means he was the one in the beginning, the first, right? it can be interpreted as he was the ORIGINAL OFFSRING OF MEW.

My theory is that Arceus created the world, planets etc. and mew created all the pokemon, dialga established time, palkia stabilized space and etc.

I think that Arceus created the world, and then Palkia and Dialga created space and time; respectively, then from Arceus, mew came, and thus went on to create the other Pokemon.
This is further supported by the fact that if you partake in the Sinjoh Ruins event in HG/SS, you see Arceus create a Palkia/Dialga/Giratina. What's to say Arceus didn't instance Mew, who then went on to evolve into the Pokemon we see today?

i got a theory that might just be right... arceus and mew were made at the same time and arcues is the one who makes the world and mew is the one who makes the organisms. so even if arceus created the universe mew is still the ancestor of all pokemon while they are both the originals or the first. so im not sure if arceus is an actual pokemon

You are entirely correct. But you see, now that the sinnoh myths are written, there IS more than one variation. Both mew and arceus could have come first. In the real world, I'd be bending logic, because that's not exactly how it works, but like I said this is the pokemon world.
P.S I very much like the way you said time and space cannot exist without each other.

Ah, the multiverse comes into play again. Not surprising really, time and space are tied to each other, one cant exist without the other. Also i'm not gonna get into the God or evolution thing too much, if you want to debate that you should talk with my colleague, Theorist No. 36722. As for your answer to the question, I thought the multiverse made new universes when a more than one variation of the future was possible (e.g. if in the main universe you had to choose one of two doors and you choose the left one a branch universe is created in which you choose the one on the right.) I could be wrong but I think thats how it works.
