I don't think I could wait however many days for certain Pokemon to appear in the Safari Zone.

I suppose it would be more difficult, especially when you have to wait a certain amount of days to get a specific Poké. I'd probably much rather trade from other games tbh, unless you were the patient type.

My question wasn't really which version has more pokemon because according to what I've searched on the internet it seems heart gold has slightly more but its proboably about equal. My question is if the fact that safari zone exclusively contains many pokemon makes catching these pokemon harder and more frustrating than it was in the previous versions.

Well I guess you can get much more Poke's in the Safari Zone than in the Great Marsh, but then again you have access to much more Poke's post E4 in DPPt. But yeah, I think there's quite a few Poke's that only can be caught in DPPt. So I guess I wouldn't say there's more rare Poke's in either game, as they sorta balance each other out. You can't catch lotsa Johto Poke's in DPPt, you can't catch lotsa Sinnoh Poke's in HGSS.

I played Pokemon Diamond to a pulp but ended up selling it about a year ago. Now that I own Heart Gold I have an important question. I noticed on various websites that a lot of the pokemon you can only find after you get the national dex cannot be found by standard methods. I saw many where you had to go to the Safari Zone or use the pokewalker in some way to get the pokemon. For anyone who has played both diamond, pearl, or platinum and heart gold or silver, is it significantly more difficult to catch rare pokemon or new pokemon from the national dex than in the previous ds games? Do the safari zone and other methods of getting these pokemon make it harder to catch them than standard methods?
All responses are appreciated.
